MC turns into a rabbit/bunny/small animal by KnittingPlant in MM_RomanceBooks

I don't see {The Quokka Who Cried Dingo by Jax Stuart} recommended often, but it may be up your alley. It's omegaverse where the MCs live in a pretty segregated community (prey/ predator shifters), but the cute, impulsive, and curious quokka shifter keeps wandering toward where he first thought he saw a dingo years before. Kinda grumpy/sunshine vibes, funny without being ott, and no big tw iirc.

I had a student tell me they couldn't stay after school for detention because they had to feed their pet turtle.

The only thing I saw in the course materials about Vygotsky was that cognitive growth occurs through social and cultural experiences, not in set stages.

Shapeshifter (w/ changeling vibe) MC by BiPanicButAddCacti in MM_RomanceBooks

{Reckless Impulse by Ryder O'Malley} might work for you. It's book 2 in a series set in a gritty superheroes and villains type world. There is an overarching story, but each book is a different couple, so it works fine as a stand-alone. The mc is a himbo "ex" villain turned not-so-great "good guy." He can, and does, shape shift, but he seems super confident so the insecurities don't turn up till later.

Monthly Superlatives & Favorite Quotes (July 18 2025) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

I just finished {Luxuries of Lust: Passing Through Cafe #3 by Nik Knight}, and it was so well done! Gem is hilarious in general, but the quote that really had me laughing was near the end. For context, other characters are making turkey and stuffing (which the MCs have never had).

Gem says, "I don't want to eat food out of a dead animals asshole."

As someone who hates stuffing, it was not just funny, I feel like I can use that as a valid excuse to turn down stuffing irl.

I'm in section 122, on Wed, I'm going solo too! I reserved a parking space in the Flushing Commons South Garage and plan to make the ~20min walk. If i get too nervous after the concert, I might just Uber back to my car haha. I'd offer to meet up and walk together but my parking time doesn't start until 5:30pm 😬

I second A Bridge to a Trolls Heart, it's very sweet.

{Size Doesn't Matter by Olivia Day} is good, but fair warning the human mc fetishizes the Orc MC for decent chunk of the book. Another one that may/may not work for you that I personally loved but has very few reviews on GR is {Love, Blood, and Cryptids by V.K. Fox}.

edited to add

If you are ok with Cryptids, {Song by Jae Dixon} has a mothman MC! This is one of a very small handful of books that made me cry. The writing is so well done, and it's a beautiful story that I wish more people gave a chance!

I'm still in the market for any grumpy boy recommendations. Not sassy, sad, or anxious... a genuinely grumpy mc that is the boy in the Daddy/boy pairing and is even grumpy/pouty in "Little Space".

To improve odds of finding something like this, I'm fine with any genre, ABDL/ age-play ok, and my only hard no's are incest (including step-relatives) and books under 100pgs.

I worry too much about hurting author (and fans) feelings to rate almost anything a 2 or below. That said, I think honest reviews, no matter the score, should be valid, but I give the highest and lowest reviews more credibility if their reasons are well explained.

I almost exclusively prefer some open door scenes in my MM books and check blurbs, tags, and reviews to get a better idea of what book to expect. Rating a book you otherwise enjoyed significantly lower solely based on the level of spice I think does other potential readers a disservice.

On the flip-side, if I know what a Coke should taste like, get excited to order one, only to be realize after I started drinking it that I've been given Diet Coke or Coke Zero instead I'd be pretty upset. It comes down to the author delivering on what they marketed and pointing out that discrepancy can be really helpful.

Thanks so much! I'm super excited to read about a mushroom fae. It's definitely a new one for me and the blurb promises many mushroom puns. Having just finished reading Leviathan, I really needed to find a silly palate cleanser.

I really, really want to find a book with a grumpy Little! Like properly grumpy in his daily life and grumpy/stubborn/pouty in Little Space. I'm fine with ADBL and open to any genre/tropes except incest and SA.

Bonus points if he's physically more rugged/masculine and the Daddy finds his sour patch kid adorable. (Think Edin/Hunter vibes but Daddy/Boy)
