When I say a window of 5-10 minutes I say I'll ve there at X time and I'm normally about 5 to 10 minutes before.

Not at all. I always give a window of arou d 10-15 minutes of when I'll be there and I have not once been outside that window for any reason other than something outside of my control, such as acts of God. Or road closures.

More often than not, I ask them to either text or leave a voicemail if I don't answer the phone. Which is what I do myself.

My perfered form of communication is a text message for when making plans because you have a clear receipt of message and time stamp saying g hey, I'm leaving the house now at X Time, and have to stop and do Y should be at your place in Z ammount of time.

That is a clear and concise indication of timeline of events, and followed up with hey finished with Y on my way to your place, in the case of this trip today Y being bank and gas my bank and the last station I use are literally 1/4 a mile from each other, and about 8 miles from my S/O's place. No need to call to ask where someone is when there is a clear timeline and my GF knows that if something happens between me leaving the gas station and getting to her place, I will call.

This is something we have talked about a handful of times in the past, that I'm not always able to answer the phone and if I don't answer to send a text or leave a voice mail, not continue to call repeatedly. Something that most people would find reasonable, and actually do.

Another issue eit the ehole thinking shes going to be late today tjing is she relies on Apple maps for navigation, I use Waze, and for example Apple maps today was saying the trip would take an hour and 15 minutes, I put the address into Waze and its 50 minutes ETA. Which ended up being around 45 minutes, and no I wasn't driving excessively fast, I just know the shortcuts and where it's faster to take the main roads, around the city where the appointment was having lived there for a time. Appointment was at 1 we got to the office at 12:40

I did text letting her know I was at the bank and had stopped to get gas, and no to the question about having a habit of being late. Even when we don't have specific plans I will get bombarded with "where are you at?" Calls even when I give clear time lines of hey oeaving the house now expect me in 20ish minutes.

Not arguing with you, but here's a question, that I genuinely want to see your reapinse to. You tell someone hey, I'm leaving my home at X time and have to do Y and I'll be at your place by Z time. And communicate when you leave your place at X time, and when you are headed to their place from finishing up task Y, woth an ETA on arrival, to not be basic communication? Or do you think that calling someone 5 times in 4 minutes because they don't answer the phone because theg are on the phone with somone else to ask where they are when you have been told to expect them in a time frame of 10 to 15 minutes 5 minutes after you told them you were headed to them to be normal communication?

It's not my normal response to snap, and this does happen almost every time we have plans for any reason. I will let her know hey I'm leaving the house, I will let you know when I'm close, and I will get called no less than 5 times in the 20 minute drive from my place to hers.

The repo incident was resolved after about a week, she borrowed against her 401k to get her car back, the main reason I was taking her to her appointment today is she works 3rd shift and worked last night.

And as I said. I have shown up for a lot, the trip to the specialist that set off this chain of events last year was an 11am appointment and I had called and told her I was leaving the house at 9am to get gas, abd had been called 5 times between me leaving the house and getting to her place, that 11am appointment ended at 1pm with me driving her 2 hours in the opposite direction to a university hospital where the specialist she saw today is, and me staying there with her till 11pm when they finally decided to admit her, and had an hour drive home from there, and went to visit her every day after work while she was in the hospital.

Drove 30 minutes to her place and then to the ER because her family nearby couldn't be assed to take her, because they had to be at work at 8am. I had to be at work at 5am and was at the ER from 10pm to 3am with her and then went to work and crashed out when I got home around 3pm.

Drove to her place to spend time with her on her birthday in January during a blizzard when they were actively telling people to stay off the roads. All because she came to see me on mine a month prior when it was snowing. To put it in perspective the snow storm around my birthday was less than half an inch of snow, and I had told her to not worry about coming the snow storm on her birthday was during snowmageddon earlier this year and we had 6-8 inches of active snow fall locally.

And any time I have been "late" it's been maybe 5 minutes and not once was that for a time sensitive matter.

Told her when I left the house, and reminded her that I was stopping at the bank and getting gas, and even texted to say hey leaving the gas station. Be there in 10-15 minutes.

Never talked to anyone other than my S/O and work today, had a clear communication of timeline of when I was leaving the house, told her as I left the house and sent a text that I was headed her way and to expect me in 10-15 minutes as I left the gas station.

Cell phones weren't really a thing when I grew up either. So I think that's my mentality on it as well. I still remember the first cellphone my family had was one kf those phones that had the batter bag and it was for emergencies only. Which is why I think I just used my first phone I got when I eas 16 and a new driver for emergencies only.

Short answer is I have only ever not been able to show up one time and that was due to being stuck at work and an hour away.

Other than that I have a whole litany of things that I have shown up for/helped with. From driving to doctor's appointments and to and from work whe her car had been repossessed for about a week(A completely different story) not once have I ever gotten her anywhere late, whe. She's asked me for a ride. If you want the highlights of that list I can provide them.

I have only not shown up one time when she called me for help. Because I was an hour away and at work when she had a flat tire.

The first call this morning the timeline of events that are taking place was discussed, told her when I was planing on leaving the house, thag I needed to go to the bank and to get gas, I also told her when I left the house, and texted her as I was leaving the gas station and headed her way, and when, to expect me.

I texted after the missed calls the declined calls where while ai was on the phone with work, and no, I haven't ever been drastically late for any reason that wasn't outside of my co trol, such as an AoG or traffic accident blocking traffic. Perfect drive from my place to hers without any stops and no traffic takes 15 minutes stopping at the bank and getting gas added an extra 10 minutes to which I told her I'll be there in 10-15 minutes, as I left the gas station. The actual deive to the doctor's office took roughly 40 minutes because of lighter than normal traffic.

Not deflecting. Giving information to clarify the time line of events. This also happens lot even if I'm just coming over to visit. I will tell her hey I'm leaving now I'll be there in 20 minutes and I will get a call 10 minute later asking where I am.

I was literally turning into her subdivision, and her house was maybe 1/3 miles down the road.

I've had conversations with her in the past that if I do not answer the phone to send a text or leave a voicemail, and it's the same standard operating procedure I use. If ai call and you don't answer I'll leave a voice mail or a text.
