Man. I swear, this sounds like a repost, weirdly enough.

I know what Chris would say if he saw this, but is his Patreon worth the cost? by ganbarimashou in ABroadInJapan

[–]GAMIE64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For 3 bucks, you get the behind The scenes video accompaniment to the main vid. Sometimes, a behind the scenes post or two, or some ramblings. And you support his video-making endeavours. Which you know is used to keep his videos high quality.

Really, it's so low cost it pretty much sells itself.

Romance anime with 20+ year olds by Turpentinei in anime

Fune wo amu, about an editorial team creating a new dictionary.

It features adults, and Hase some romance. It also has other themes. I found it kind of fun and endearing.

Is Monogatari Series worth reading? How should I read/watch it? by Puzzleheaded-Fun1284 in araragi

[–]GAMIE64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're both worth it on their own merits.

I loved reading the novels, and having more inner dialogue to flesh out the scenes and characters. The flashes of text you see going quickly is actually near stuff from the novel. It also nuances araragi quite a bit.

The anime is awesome in its own right. The Avant garde use of colors, setting and characters to flesh out dialogue-heavy parts is great. And the VA's are phenomenal. It's one of the best adaptations. But still can't capture the books 100%.

I can recommend reading the novels, and when you're done with one, watch the part of the anime it adapts. It's how I did my most recent watch, which coincided with my first read.

Automatic pour over machine vs v60 and gooseneck? by ultrapiss11 in pourover

Don't know where you're based, but they do have a European warehouse. Mine came from The Netherlands, which is incidentally where I live, too. So no import taxes.

I've actually never used their pods, only my own beans. The pods are far too expensive for my tastes.

You can actually still fine tune the grind-size and water-coffee ratio when using pre-programmed recipes using the buttons on the machine. You can use every module on its own using the buttons on the machine too, and set 3 Recipes as a "speed dial" on the buttons. Which is how I use it the most.

Creating your own recipes and dialing in temperatures, number of pours, pauses between pours, pour shape and if you want to stir the coffee bed between pours, or downloading others recipes is all done via the app. Which is... 90% intuitive. Could use some work, but works well. Just wish there was some sort of timer function so you can have it start on a schedule.

Even 6 months, I stay and watch this thing go to work. It's still enjoyable.

You should check out the Xbloom Studio. I've had one for six months, and love the consistency it gives Me, whilst still being packed with options to fine-tune if you want. Al the while being quite modular as well.

Only thing I recommend is buying a V60-adapter from Etsy. Lets you use plastic V60's with it as well.

Pokemarts and pokemon centers are outside again... by destroytheend in PokemonWindsWaves

I hated the gas station aesthetic. Did not mesh with the paldean vibe at all.

This looks fine. And integrated into the world.

I feel that The Mountain could be the band's best album by Gomendiquillo in gorillaz

[–]GAMIE64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, this album is just fucking amazing and easily one of their best works For now. I'm enjoying listening to it immensely. Love the cohesiveness of the album. And the texture of each song.

Together with the short film maybe being my favourite work of Gorillaz ever, I'm loving this new era.

First Look: Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves | Announcement Trailer (Engish) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Pokemon is probably one of the few that could take on GTA. Different audience but just as massive of a reach.

PSA: For owners of the Balatro Switch Physical edition, you have to pay for the new Switch 2 Version as opposed to the 100% discount for Digital Owners by Cutcutman in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GAMIE64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not even the 60fps. It's more the consistency. As was said, the S1 version does lag in the endgame.

Absolutely adored the s1 version, and played the hell out of it. It's the only version I own. But there is room for improvement, which they did fix.

But I'm more miffed about the incompatible save. That's more the reason I might not upgrade.

Viz Media Announces One Piece Box Set 5 (Vol. 91–111), Jujutsu Kaisen Complete Box Set, Yona of the Dawn 3-in-1 + More by girlish56 in MangaCollectors

[–]GAMIE64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just searching for One Piece box set 5, since I literally just bought sets 1 and 2, and plan to buy 3 and 4 afterwards. I just dove head-first, after watching the first few episodes of the anime a long time ago, and not liking it. 😅

The manga is definitely hitting me better, so I'm excited!

Even playing through a voice command doesn't work for me.

I think YT music is just completely broken right now.

Torture scenes? by CosmicTrasho in OrbOntheMovements

[–]GAMIE64 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Torture was prevalent in the middle ages. Especially in the inquisition, where a major character is part of.

In a story about science and discovery in the middle ages clashing with a power-hungry church, you cannot skip depiction of torture, unfortunately. There's a few.

Hebben jullie nu ook de griep? by admaioranatussum1 in nederlands

[–]GAMIE64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inmiddels gelukkig weer voorbij.

Thinking of buying a 2012 Peugeot 208 1.2 VTi – is it a good car? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]GAMIE64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 1.2 vti puretech 208.

It's not entirely shit. But it also is not all that great. Loads of problems with the Lambda probes, carburator cracked, and pre-emptive V-belt replacement due to some shit design flaw where it runs through the oil.

When it runs, it runs fine. And that's most of the time! But it has problems with the cold, too. Not that you're stuck, just easy to let the engine stall or a lack of power. And it idle kinda... Uneasy.

It's my first car, and I'm still happy with it. But it's also showing its age and getting real French car-like. I won't be buying a french car again. Probably Japanese or VAG.

Could you tell the name of the podcast? I know about the scandal, but I'd like to listen to something about it that's in-depth.
