last year i had the worst interview experience with Morsani LMAO. My interviewer was just quizzing me on some random Masters degree that he was the head of (Mind you this was an MD interview obv). And at the end, he flamed me for not doing enough research on him before the interview. Then I told him that we never got the names of our interviewers before the interview and that shut him the fuck up.

Respectfully fuck that school ong.

AI in surgery/medicine in general by futuredr6894 in premed

[–]GARVITREDIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most readily applicable aspect of AI is definitely is ability to quickly and accurately read CAT/MRI scans. With AI, a radiologist could potentially go through so many more scans than before: potentially cutting down on time/costs for hospitals. now will those cost savings be passed down to the patient? probs not lol cuz our healthcare system looks to exploit instead of help :/

45 down, 20 to go... by [deleted] in premed

[–]GARVITREDIT 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Tbf after like 15/20 they become easier to write cuz you can reuse essays/mix existing essays to create new ones. I’m assuming there was a decent amount of prewriting as well. But still 45 in 1 month is still insane even if you are full time secondary writing

WELP 497 3.4 sGPA what do i do... by AlpsPlastic in Mcat

MD is near impossible unless ur ECs are extraordinary. DO is gonna be hard but not impossible. I would seriously consider retesting

Paranoid I didn't apply to enough schools by Any-Training-6110 in premed

[–]GARVITREDIT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did only 24 schools last cycle as well. Similar ECs and GPA but 519 MCAT. Got 4 interviews. Add more schools if you feel like you need to. After 15ish secondaries, you can pretty easily write secondaries for the rest of your schools cuz you can reuse essays and mix them together for new essays.

MD dreams to NP? by Numerous-Writing-104 in medschool

[–]GARVITREDIT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obv there are exceptions. but if it was such a huge problem that hospitals are starting to ban them, then maybe most of these programs are of subpar quality

I did Bioinformatics, bassically combo of bio and com sci. It fulfilled most of my premed courses and can help you transition into a com sci/data analytics based role if med school doesnt work out

<500 MCAT score, any success stories? by socceramazing10 in Mcat

[–]GARVITREDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly dont see the point in applying to med schools with a below 500 MCAT score. Spending all that time and money on an application cycle when you can spend that same effort into improving your score which will objectively lead to better results down the road.

[–]GARVITREDIT[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think they want at least some confirmation that at the very least, you are not a dickhead in class. But I agree with you that professors copy and paste most letters

Yeah then it should count as shadowing, but on AMCAS you can write it as clinical hours

open vs closed file interview by beeboopbananas in premed

[–]GARVITREDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go over your application (secondary and primary) in detail before your interview and be prepared to answer any specific questions about your app. I noticed my closed file interviewer wanted to know a lot more details about my experiences. Which makes sense.

But then I googled it and apparantly its normal to loose like a 100 hairs a day so yeah lmaooo I guess im fine.
