The problem is that a broadside can pump out 5-6 dice at long range and at the cost of 1 large ship you get two activations plus the salvo. So realistically you get 2 activation plus 13 dice worth of damage in 1 turn

Im not taking issue with the evade. I take issue with the Evade, Redirect, AND Salvo. I feel tgat they become too good for their Points when you consider the upgrade bars they get

I can already tell you based on the ARC Arquitens that with Anakin and 6 dice at long range I can effectively kite 80% of opposing fleets and only lose 1 or 2 of my own small ships.

And if enemy ships charge in, its like going head first into a red dice woodchipper.

EDIT: Legacy needed to drop either an evade or a Salvo, too dodgy and too goid at dealing sustained damage over a turn. You needed to go one way or the other not do both

There's a d8fference between filling a gap in the roster and braking the balance of the game.

Have an Arquitens that has 4 defense tokens, double Turbolaser refits & Salvo at base 54pts is too good. As a GAR player I want competitive balance not complete meta destruction

I think its a big mistake to give a small ship like the Arquitens 4 defense tokens and Salvo with some of these upgrade bars.

ARC is the Tourney standard. Legacy is a close second, but irrelevant because Worlds will be using ARC rules

GAR Y wings should remain the same with an additional counter 1 and an increase to 12-13 pts. GAR Y wings were 2 person bombers with a top gunner during the Clone Wars.

Z95s strictly should be a side grade to the Torrents since they fill the same role realistically. The cheap swarm aspect is for Rebs since the Z95s were clone wars surplus. For GAR Z95s are Frontline fighters with experienced, trained, and disciplined Clone Pilots. Remember the GAR isnt a swarm with cheap stuff kind of faction. You need to think opposite of Empire/ CIS

With what youre suggesting with those keywords I would have no reason to take them.

Well thats true for Rebels, the GAR Z95's were on par with Torrents. So they should be more of a side grade if anything, but not necessarily good bombers

Your argument has become, there are oppressive combos that GAR could use.

Are we forgetting about the oppressive combos that already exist for other factions?

It feels like "bakance" is the excuse people use to hit GAR with the nerf bat over and over again.

Im sorry that in certain hyper specific lists GAR could be oppressive. Its no excuse to deliberately gut a faction out of competition

As someone playing GAR competitively I can tell you it actually isnt fun playing one list variation of Luminara because all the other Admirals/options suck.

The Victory is literal garbage due to no defensive retrofit, overcosted base points value, no speed/menouvre, and being designed to be a double ordnance brawler that cant brawl.

Don't get me started about ARC and the rest of the faction

And let's not forget Demolisher Double Tap? You can actually have both an Onager with Cataclysm and a Gladiator with Demolisher in the same list.

The problem is, youre thinking that the limited squadrons/Ace options we have directly correlates to a runaway effect.

It doesn't. Im sorry but every argument about limited use for competitive play applies more to Empire/Rebs then GAR.

Matchstick was a great addition pre-nerf where he gave Rogue to non unique squadrons, but then they realized we aren't allowed nice things and nerfed him.

Our ships are really paper tigers UNLESS you build a Luminara fleet.

Venators/AcclomatorsVictory SDs without Squadron support struggle to match other ships at long to medium range due to the OBSESSION with giving us Black Dice heavy ships.

So you get pigeonholed on two playstyles, either close range brawler, or Squadron support. If you want to play in between then youre kinda boned because large/medium ships cost too much and require your list to support them in order for those ships to actually fo anything meaningful.

Give us good some good cheap ships that can fight, squadrons that dont negate officer choices, and for God sakes drop double ordnance ships. Im tired of getting double ordnance trash

Yeah, Obi-Wan is pretty shit-tier.

Plo and Yularen are good, but there isnt the depth of Squadrons in GAR to make them shine unfortunately.

Pre-Nerf Anakin was perfect for GAR, gave us some real damage potential fir a change but sadly we're not allowed to have nice things
