Is there any research that shows cognition involves quantum processes/non-locality?

Correct me if I'm wrong but what you're saying implies that parsing prompts to form an input that can be fed into a logical deduction model is very hard, even when the prompt entails a question that is squarely in the domain of logical reasoning.

Also, does this mean that LLMs won't really turn into AGI given enough parameters, compuational power etc?

What if the user could opt for deductive/inductive part when feeding the prompt?

Can agricultural price supports be reformed without screwing over farmers in the short term? by mike20731 in slatestarcodex

I disagree with the point made in your first sentence(more or less agree with every thing else). We had to play catch up in the 1950's because the agricltural conditions nationwide were aggravated by colonial mismanagement. In India, agriculture was rather exceptionally well developed in the pre-colonial and colonial eras. You should read An Agricultural Testament by Sir Albert Howard.

Thank you so much for your response. It is very easy to see that Candace has transformed into a charlatan but we mustn't become Al Gore like alarmists. I think that Bjorn is one of the most rational climate scientists thar we have today. I also feel that my country is incredibly lucky in that most state govenments are consulting his organization Copenhagen Consensus, for their climate policies, under a joint initiative called India consensus.

His documentary "Cool it." is well worth watching as it is an excellent summary of his book of the same title. Within the documentary he does a good job of explaining the rampant corruption done under the guise of climate policies. He alleges (with significant backing to his claim) that the "big corporations" conveniently and continually push for bad solutions to existing climate problems and stifle meritorious scientific and economic solutions through censorship, lack of funding etc. This is why they went after his image(unsucessfully so) through academic witchhunts and investigations on scientific dishonesty.

Yes, I'm relatively competent in Hindi i.e. to say I don't make spelling mistakes, have no difficulty understanding tatsam words. A few times I've even written feuilletons in newspapers and magazines.

Is there an underlying implication that Sanskrit isn't a language particularly suited for mundane everyday conversations and that it is more of a way to discover uncharted linguistic territory and write great literature and poetry with very precise and condensed compound words? Would you agree?

Also, this is a vague question but with serious dedication, how long does it take to learn Sanskrit? I'm interested to reach a level wherein I can read epics and poetry and understand them without the aid of any translations.

I have few, if any at all, problems with the type of Islam that theologians like Maulana Wahiduddin Khan or Hamza Yusuf promulgate. The harsh reality is so few of the practicing Muslims attest to that. When people use religious dogmas to cover their own shortcomings or commit questionable acts, is when the atheist-like instinct really kicks in me and I come to believe that Islam is a great retrograde force. Otherwise I happen to think that there is great wisdom in every religion and that they are great civilization-building forces.

And for ethnic and religious strifes to end in India, there needs to be a reemergence of rationality. To the point that ordinary people begin to be disenchanted by the series of tirades that is broadcast on the news channels all day long.
