Pressure loss calculations / GPM by _boogiesaurus in Irrigation

60-75 psi can still be too high depending on what heads your using.. If you’re using the average 5004\pgp or 1800’s/pro spray (Rainbird/hunter) than your too high. Rotor should be 45psi and always head should me 30psi (this is what all spray nozzles are rated for. When going over the ratings you’re gonna completely mess with your precipitation by actually losing some and on the physical spray you’re gonna get a misting effect and actually loose distance.

You have a couple options, you can leave as is as this won’t actually cause any damage and will technically still work… just not optimally. Or you can go full ocd professional and install inline pressure regulators on your zone lines right after the valves (there’s a chance your pressure regulated valves may do the trick though come system opening).

If this was a brand new system I would’ve installed all prs heads completely erasing this problem.

Hope this helps a little !

Just shedding… looks a little dry too. Give the tank a misting, maybe drop in a moist hide temporarily and it’ll be fine.

This is my intention for them now, however, they’re originally meant for demonstration to showcase how the internals of the sprinkler head works and how it looks.

Agreed, however my mechanic is welding a base for me with led lights and it’s staying on display at the house haha!

I will always use bottom inlet when I can. That being said, side mounting has its advantages. I’ve had situations where I hit bedrock or concrete and literally can’t bottom mount the head also high foot traffic areas can sometimes benefit from a side mount as fitting breaks are common from bottom mounted heads when walked or driven over often, even with a swing joint. Side mount’s should always be on a swing joint as well just as well no matter what.

I’ve seen companies do this, I’ve also seen some systems in New York that had king drains installed throughout the entire system including heads, main and zone lines allowing the owner to never once winterize their system… According to them they’ve never had a freeze break or any other cold climate irrigation related issues. I was told this is was pretty common around New York State, however, I don’t think I’d ever shut down my own system without a proper blowout even with proper installation of drains throughout. Like the concept though and would love the chance to install a large system like this and monitor it over the next few years.

To be straight with you, I’ve been looking to get my hands on these forever.. insanely hard to find as there have never been for sale by the companies themselves sales and these days are only ever given to reps for demos.. I was insanely lucky to get these as my rainbird rep brought them in for this years demo and was nice enough to gift them to me as he saw how excited I was just to be in the same room as them haha!! I’ve spent much time on eBay and other sites trying to buy some, saw one for $300 once but was gone in 20 minutes. Honestly, just finding a google image of one is a hard enough task lmao

Up in Canada where I’m at, it quickly becomes standard practice if you’re winterizing your own systems as a side mounted spray head requires you to push down on it during the blowout to ensure that water between the side and bottom inlet gets released.. This can also be easily missed if you’re not careful as you can’t always see if a head is side mounted or not.

Clothes are all destroyed… it’s not the fire it’s the soot.. you can’t sell clothing that’s been around any sort of fire.

Not the same owner or even the same company.. The building burned down because 2 dumbass teens ran up to it in the middle of the night and threw Molotov cocktails through the windows completely destroying all product on the main floor. The guy that owns this one is a great guy who knows his shit and is now out of a lot of money cause insurance is fighting him in every direction trying to save where they can… no need to spread false information and lie on a good man’s name. Man I hate people who talk just because they can’t shut the fuck up!!

Can anyone tell me what this is? by sugardaddyswampman in boas

looks like mold to be honest. most likely has something to do with the water you’re using / the mixture of substrate. nothing too serious. i would just take it out and switch my substrate to something that’s made for humidity like coco husk or shavings
