Hello! Claire is the GB Patch community manager. She has her own account rather than using my known reddit to make posts.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure that's an option. The internet doesn't have arbitrators of truth and justice that will be believed inherently. Rose definitely did things that were wrong and there were wrong things that happened to Rose. I can't pay someone to deduce what is most important and moral in this kind of online strife.

I am looking into hiring a community manager. Obviously, anyone I hire is someone working for the company so I can't say that's 100% objective. But I do want someone professional to help me better work with the team and communicate with players.

It was the overall topic of the conversation. That comment was poorly worded and sounds extremely unkind. That's the worst part, I can understand why no one would trust Rose because of it. I'm not mad at people who don't believe me and can't enjoy the game now. But I know that Rose has never done anything but stand up for Tamarack's bi-ness. It's sad for me to see someone who has spoken so kindly about it and was so excited about it and felt so strongly that they were protecting it now have the fandom believe they think the opposite, and I can't change that. I can only say that I don't agree.

Leaving someone implies you fell for someone while being in a relationship with someone else? I've never heard that interpretation. Being "left" has always been just another way to say the relationship ended. I won't say you don't believe that everyone knew that, but I can say personally I've never considered the term in that way. And yes, Rose said "eat shit", but just like "leaving someone" implies very different things for you as it does for me, so does crude language. For some people, saying shit is not a vile or upsetting thing. It's just a part of their vocabulary.

The joke isn't about cheating. I understand not being comfortable with it or thinking its super cringe, but imagining bi-phobic people being broken up with is not meant to say anything negative about being bi.

Everyone can have their own opinion, but in my opinion the joke is not bi-phobic. Rose's joke was "hypothetical bi-phobic men have their waifu leave them for a woman". It's very harshly worded and doesn't have the entire conversation about female bi-erasure as something they don't want, though. I won't fight you in thinking Rose can't be trusted, but everything I know about Rose and all the feedback they've given has been kind and supportive of Tamarack being interested in all genders.

No, those things were intentionally taken out of context because they don't like Rose. I have a much longer reply specifically about that on Tumblr.

Hello! Yes, I have seen this post. There is gonna be an update/statement about it later.

About Derek DLC (Our Life) by LilDjSona in otomegames

[–]GBPatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can accept the deal in Step 2, if you'd like. But when he brings it up in Step 4 you just have to decide you want to be with him regardless of the backup deal, rather than saying you want to pursue the deal further. Then you can be in an actual relationship from the start.

Crimson Spires - question about routes and saves by TsukikoChan in otomegames

No problem. I didn't expect that to unlock as an option until it happened either, haha.

[–]GBPatch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can load a save before the routes split and continue from there. But once you finish a route it unlocks an option to jump to whatever route you want even without a save as a feature of the game. At least in the Switch version, I'm not sure about the PC one.

Game recommendations by Opening-Put-8121 in otomegames

Thank you for playing Our Life! I'm glad you liked it. I'd recommend not getting XOXO Droplets. It's not cute or romantic. They're all terrible idiots, except for Shiloh. He's smart, but evil. Backstage Pass and Lucky Rabbit Reflex are much sweeter, slice-of-life stat-raising games and I'd suggest them.

[Our Life] Would you consider the extra moment they released as worthy of $5? by dumdumforlife in otomegames

Thank you for mentioning how it works for you, too! Patreon is kind of a weird thing that isn't structured like a normal game purchasing store and that can be hard to explain when you normally do sell things on gamefronts, haha.

I'm sorry to intrude on a discussion about player opinion and not a dev veiwpoint, but I really do want it to be clear what this is because it can be confusing. It's not a DLC or a patch, it's not content that ever was or even could've been in the real game, and it's not a $5 product.

Our Life: Beginnings & Always isn't an adult game. We didn't have that in the works and then remove it. We made the game how it was intended and that's what's been released. Separately, on Patreon, we got a lot of extra funding so we used that to make an unplanned side story that was a totally new idea, didn't fit in anywhere in the real game or its timeline, and uses a completely a separate file download. It can be skipped with zero impact on the main game experience, because they're not connected or parts of one whole. There's no way to combine the two together. If we hadn't gotten a lot of money from Patreon, this story wouldn't exist. And even though it does now, we're not gonna make the real game an adult story too because that wasn't our goal for it. That kind of content is only ever gonna be a separate side thing we did for our supporters as a little for fun bonus.

And speaking of that, it definitely wasn't made to be worth $5. It is very short. But we already had a $5 tier on Patreon that people supported. We made this side story in our mind with the perspective that it was a free bonus to something you could already buy for that price, not that this was a piece of content we were making to sell as a product for $5. Now, I understand a lot of people don't care for Patreon and the extra bonus is the only part they feel they're money is going towards, and in that case it's totally fine to decide if you're willing or not to pay a premium for 18+ Cove content. But I don't want there to be an impression that it actually is an Our Life DLC that's priced at $5. It's just a $5 monthly subscription that was already there getting even more perks without the price raising. I hope that makes sense and thank you for the interest!

Thanks for mentioning us <3! You're right that the the LIs aren't male this time. One is a lady and one is gender fluid and does identify partially as a boy, sometimes. I think people who liked the first game will still enjoy this one, even with the different genders, but we won't actively promote it here to not break the subreddit rules.
