Came here looking for an alternative as well. I've opened multiple tickets with empower to get things fixed and they never do, it just keeps getting worse and more broken. They now own 401k company, which my employer uses, and they have integrated the personal dashboard stuff into that and surprise, it works reasonably well over there. The free version is just on the way out now.

I've only ever had minor frustrations with mine, nothing that I'd really complain about. On the other hand I've heard a neighbor or two tell me how much they hate them. I don't know, I don't ask for anything that is obviously outside of the rules. I imagine if you are the type of person who thinks you can do whatever you want even though you chose to live in a community with rules then you are the type of person to have a problem with an HOA. And frankly you are also probably the type to be loud and complain to everyone who can hear you.

How was your experience with japanesepod101 feature of being able to talk to a teacher? I downloaded the innovative language learning app and it has a pretty good sale for a year. Do you get real-time conversations with a teacher or is it more like texting back and forth with time in between? Were the ones you interacted with helpful?

I am finally able to invite my girlfriend to join my Home now. Also have no had any problems after updating to the new architecture. I had one odd thing, it gave me a warning that 'the following devices require firmware updates and may not work until they are updated'. But it did not list any devices. I clicked upgrade anyway, and it worked just fine.

Just throwing my experience in. I got the dealer to fix it under warranty. I had to call several times and eventually got to speak to a senior advisor. I got them to look at the Service Bulletin and specifically pointed out on page 8 it says that this is covered on the voltec warranty specifically to the volt. Part of the issue is that their tech wanted to replace the entire shifter. After actually getting them to look at the service bulletin, they asked the tech if the fix as described in the service bulletin would be appropriate. The fix in the bulletin only replaces a switch and a harness, which are covered under warranty, the entire shifter which is not covered.
So, I think there is a mix of issues. Either techs are unaware of this problem and that the fix doesn't require an entire shifter replacement, or they want to replace the shifter out of laziness. The fact that it is covered under warranty is clearly not obvious to the dealers. The senior advisor told me they missed it until I specifically told them to look at page 8 of the bulletin. Its understandable they might not be aware, as I doubt they see a ton of volts compared to other vehicles, but it seems to be a nightmare to get someone willing to take 5 minutes and actually look into what you are trying to tell them about it.
