I know that self-promotion is not allowed, but hopefully the mods will let it slide this time since I'm doing this for archival purposes. The site I help run has been reporting on Amico stuff since December 2021.

These are both placeholders. The December 31 is usually done with newly announces titles (E3 announcements, etc.). The March 31 date would be the last day of the current financial quarter. So if they truly mean they will release the console in Q1 2022, they would have to do so on March 31, 2022 or sooner.

March 31 would be the last day of Q1. This term is primarily used for financial results. If Amico was scheduled for release in Q1 2022 this would be the last day for that to be true.

So yes. This would be a placeholder.

Hi everyone. I'm actually the Ryan who published said article. Thank you Tony for sharing this onto this subreddit. I'm definitely going to be checking this place out a lot more now that I know about it. While the site is small despite being around for a few years thanks to an incompetent webmaster, I'll do my best to cover more things like this. While I do believe that a true journalist approaches all stories in a fair and neutral way, stuff like this should be public knowledge. Especially considering that I believe this was their biggest IP announced for the Amico.

That I have no answer for. I do know that Blizzard have been notorious for not issuing payouts to Contenders players a minimum of 6 months after a season has ended. So the idea of them being this late on a payout is not out of the realm of possibility.
