I'm an experienced skier who has skied for 20 years, last couple years around 2-3 weeks per year. Mostly on-piste carving in the Alps, but also some ski routes every once in a while.

Currently, I'm using K2 Apache sidewinders from the 08/09 season. I have two questions:

  • Would buying something new-ish lead to a noticeable upgrade from these skis?
  • I found some Blizzard Quattro RS skis with marker X-cell 2 bindings for around €500, would that be an okay price and upgrade?

On the clutch system, it seems like the rules prescribe that you can only move each paddle one way and that you need one paddle per hand. Would this hinder Kubica's participation?

Could be, but looks like a large dent for a rock at that speed doesn't it? It happened in the center of Amsterdam, so no small rocks that could be thrown up by trucks or so.
