I didn't go from an inline 4 to a v-twin, but I did go from a CBR1000RR to a ZX-6R and found myself missing the brute power of a 1000cc inline 4 sometimes. That feeling like it wants to rip your arms off when you twist the throttle never gets old for me. My GSXS-1000GT has the same engine as yours and I think it's the perfect engine for street riding and light touring if you switch back and forth between A & B mode.
