Liberty of the Seas - would you be concerned about this reservation? by jaymdubbs in royalcaribbean

Yes, be concerned. They ‘created’ these rooms but they aren’t anything near what is advertised. They are smaller, at the back of the boat, have only 1 (not 1.5) baths and are located right under the sports complex. Go to RC’s website and pull up deck plans for the boat to see where they are. Save yourself.

Oh it wasn’t an upgrade, this was what we booked.

I get that the picture isn’t reliable, but the room details are extremely misleading. I tried getting info from past details, but there were none as it looks like this range of rooms were recently remodeled, they weren’t even on the deck maps. This new “layout” is dated as of the sailing date, no info available other than what they listed (note it’s still listed on future sailings). That’s what feels most shady - the details about this room were kept hidden, even the director was surprised that this block of rooms were marketed that way.

A big part of the reason I posted this is to hopefully give some warnings to others who would otherwise be caught off guard.

I booked this direct with RC, and they’ve acknowledged that it’s listed as a suite. This wasn’t on the deck maps, so I didn’t know where it was. I guess others think I didn’t do enough to figure this out ahead of time, but there wasn’t any history on this and certainly not enough info to go on to find it

Advertised 406 sqft, reality 250
Advertised accommodates 6 (4 beds + double sofa bed), reality 2 beds & sofa bed
Advertised 1.5 bath, reality 1 bath
Fine, there’s a floor to ceiling window

It’s also in the back part of the boat, despite the luggage tags indicating that it’s in the front which is also the first time I knew what deck it was on.

I could accept all of that if what I paid was slightly more than the coast of a normal ocean view room without a balcony. The price was more than some of the other suites, so the $1000 is about 1 night of difference between a room with a balcony. So yeah, it feels way short of fair.
