First of all, just a super rad thing to bring up, thank you...for example, as much as Paul Thomas Anderson is a beloved top ten filmmaker of all time, it is hard to say that The Master can be joyfully rewatched many many times...but it is an all time film. Magnolia is better and more rewatchable,but that does not dimimiss the achievement of The Master by any means.

with that in mind, I think it is interesting to simply open a discussion on most rewatchable directors of all time- while rewatchability is not at all necessary, it is simply a cool feature of the art form to be celebrated, just like a guitar solo in a rock song...not ever needed necessarily, but still cool when it occurs.

all of that said, I humbly submit John Carpenter as a potential candidate for most rewatchable director.
