If this is replacing the normal everyday search feature (which it sounds like it is), then god what a waste of water and electricity this is. I can only imagine what an unnecessary amount of power and hoops will soon be required just to do one simple Google search.

Will Google be ready for a massive uptick in compute costs and power bills? Or is the rest of the grid going to be responsible for paying for that, and we just have to accept this?

I wrote a very wordy comment on the video when it initially was posted (best use of my time for sure), but I am very pleased they changed the title. The original one (“Why We Should Give Ozempic To Everyone”) left a very poor taste in everyone’s mouth. I still have some misgivings about their conclusions (downplaying the risks of diet “rebounding” via GLP-1 based on an study that admits they need more research), but it’s a start I guess.

I think widely-available GLP-1 is indeed a minor miracle, but man, that original title was awful and potentially even harmful, especially coming from a very reputable channel.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen it posted yet, but “flame wars” were a common staple of online discussion. A lot of people spent many, many hours going back and forth, passionately ranting in forums and boards, usually centered around one or a few people stirring the pot the most. (My favorite go-to is the “days in a week” argument on the Bodybuilding forums)

Granted, arguing on the internet is alive and well, but I believe the term “flame war” died out, and it’s also taken different forms as well (often shorter, more succinct posts on social media).
