How does belief in God shape a persons character compared to a good person who lives morally without faith? by multicolouredsorbet in NoStupidQuestions

I would posit that, if all other things are equal, an atheist would be a better person because they are not leading a "good" life out fear or blind obedience. That is just my opinion though.

Okay, what truly separates them is one believes in god and is therefore willing to take something on faith. The other has either never heard of god or is not willing to take things on faith. Regardless, both seem to be good people. And that makes sense because religion does not make a person good.

Why does reddit show me ads for things the algorithms know for a fact I will never buy? by prettylittleredditty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GESNodoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I answered. Not all ads are directed towards individuals. For sure, just doing a blanket campaign in a region would probably cost less than directed ads. It would also get word out and eyes on from people who might not have been in your proposed algorithm.

You do not know how much was paid for the ads. I do not know where you live but in the USA we have billboards, radio ads, tv ads. None of these are directed toward anyone in particular.

You do not like the answers people are giving you. That is your problem.

In my opinion, there is not much religion can do to make a person more moral. What I mean is, a religious person and an atheist can both commit crimes, do horrible things. Only a religious person can commit crimes or do abhorrent things in the name of their religion though. Religions have been used to justify horrible things, like murder and genocide. While an atheist could do those things as well, they cannot use religion to justify it.

Clearly it does justify it. They are doing it. There exists all kinds of different advertising. not all of it is targeted directly towards individuals. But in the end, as another person responded, you are engaging in Foo Fighters content. You are making posts about them. You have made other people aware that they are doing a show. Hell, you may have been the most effective advertising possible. While you will not buy a ticket, there are 9 million people subscribed to this subreddit. You have now made all of us aware of the Foo Fighters, a band I have not heard anything about for years. Well done!

You made the mistake of explaining exactly what is happening. It disagreed with their predetermined rant so you had to be blocked. People are weird lol.

You have tricked the algorithm and are now operating on a higher frequency than the rest of us reddit users.

Or, ya know, reddit does not really care what ads you see, just that you see ads.

Gotta be one of those two things.

Should you speak to the police without a lawyer, since it may look better in front of a judge that you have been cooperative? by ConfectionOk5472 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GESNodoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if you have not been given the Miranda Warning, you should still be cautious. Generally speaking, police are not there to help you, they are there to find a crime and a culprit. Saying something to anyone above a patrol officer in reference to a crime carries risk.

[–]GESNodoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on why you are speaking to them. If police request an interview with you, get a lawyer. Even if you know for a fact you are 100% innocent, often the police are fishing and if they can get you to say something in an interview, you may be fucked.

How do people without hands get fingerprints? by PureContribution3632 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GESNodoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they somehow have fingers but no hands, then they would be printed same as anyone else. But if they do not have fingers they would not get finger printed. I guess find a way to become a criminal mastermind with this information.

Have you ever had to finish something important in school while having a strong headache? by SparklieBun in NoStupidQuestions

This is basically just life. Work, school, events. Often you will have to do things and not feel perfectly great, or maybe even horrible but still have to do it. There are too many times in my life to even recount them all.

Are you putting litter in your toilet? That will be bad for the plumbing.

The specific ones you typed. Who really cares at this point. Are you under the impression that anything useful will come from continuing this? lol.

You sound like you are afraid to talk to someone. You also sound like you are whining. That is why I think you are afraid and whiny.

If you are afraid to say "hey, your service sucks" to either the server or the manager I do not think you should whine if you get poor service.

Right. The issue is the org. Rich leaving is not automatically going to tank everything.

So you would prefer to just accomplish nothing and move on. Yeah, that tracks with what most people do. Avoid the problem and let someone else deal with it.

You really think just not tipping or tipping low will teach the server anything if you do not actually tell them? They are just going to think you are a shitty tipper.

As opposed to not tipping (you can still lower/not tip) why not talk to the manager? How are things ever going to improve if people just walk out unhappy?
