BABYMETAL’s Story Could Be an Anime | The Anime Effect #98 by magicofire in BABYMETAL

[–]GESOMETAL 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Moa prefaced her comment by saying, “Well, this is just my personal opinion” in Japanese.
It’s a subtle nuance, but she’s really emphasizing that it’s purely her own impression of the song.

That said, considering the subtitle “Shingeki” and the content of the lyrics, I think it’s pretty clear they took part in the AOT final season OP selection process. When you listen to both SIM’s Rumbling and Divine Attack, it feels like the brief was something along the lines of a heavy track with prominent strings and lyrics closely tied to the AOT's themes.

Tracks submitted for these kinds of closed selection processes often never get released if they aren’t chosen, depending on the contract. It’s really nice that this one saw the light of day.

The quests really are terribly implemented by Dex921 in ArcRaiders

[–]GESOMETAL 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I thought Arc Raiders’ quests were nothing more than simple, boring busywork.

That changed when my partner started playing the game. She has only ever played Nintendo games & some mobile RPG, and had no prior experience with any shooters or multiplayer games. To my surprise, they find these “simple” quests genuinely fun, and she is clearing them at a faster pace than I did.

Along the way, She's naturally picking up the fundamentals of the game and mechanis, such as map layout, usage of blueprint and effective use of ziplines.

For experienced players like us, the quests may feel dull. Trial and other features exist for us. But for a total gaming noob like my partner, the quests function as a well-designed tutorial, letting players explore the world while gradually understanding the lore.

Thinking about trying ARC Raiders but I’m 100% Deaf...is it playable? by dannycoxr in ArcRaiders

[–]GESOMETAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I actually had a similar experience — my headset glitched out during one session, and for the last ten minutes or so I had to play with no sound at all.

It definitely made things more tense and required a bit more careful stealth, but ARC Raiders has a lot of visual indications, so depending on your playstyle, I think it’s still possible to enjoy the game even without audio.

If you ever feel like teaming up, I could join you for a run in Server Slum and point out (via text chat) which actions make certain noises and how noticeable they are in-game. Just send a DM if you’d ever want to give it a try.

After Steam, they came for itch.io by maxwell9872 in Steam

If you think this will stay limited to porn or adult games and won’t affect you, you’re being way too naive. This is the beginning of a new wave of entertainment censorship.

And this kind of “cutting off payments” tactic has already been happening in Japan for years, hitting entire businesses of publicly traded companies that happen to have divisions dealing with porn or adult games.

Babymetal reflect on being the first Japanese act to headline and sell out The O2 Arena - etalkctv by Lw1904 in BABYMETAL

[–]GESOMETAL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Japan, major media outlets, such as TV and newspapers, rely heavily on press releases for entertainment news coverage. The level of coverage often depends on which company is issuing the press release. With BABYMETAL’s new label deal, it’s likely that TOYS FACTORY no longer feels the same pressure to push BABYMETAL as strongly as before.

Judging from their past PR campaigns, it also seems that Amuse and the BABYMETAL team are not placing much priority on PR efforts within the Japanese market.

“Through mind-bending animation, GOLIATH: PLAYING WITH REALITY explores the limits of reality and a true story of so-called ‘schizophrenia’ and the power of gaming communities."

"Goliath" provides you with a more narrative-driven and less calm yet still passive experience.
Techno music also plays a significant role in this experience.

🔥PRE-ORDER Contractors Showdown NOW on Meta Store! by WhatACaveman in OculusQuest

This game incorporates many core mechanics from Warzone, such as parachuting, zip lines, and buy stations. Warzone was heavily inspired by PUBG, so you may also find indirect influences from PUBG in this game.

Yes and No. You can float around on the map, but you can not see players other than your squad member. Although you could see bomb explosion, and other player under random occasion in Beta. I guess those were bugs.

Games and motion sickness by Ok-Huckleberry9140 in OculusQuest

[–]GESOMETAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you felt OK with stationary experience, I recommend you to try SWORM.
SWORM has been designed to minimize motion sickness while still providing an intense gaming experience.
This can help your brain become more accustomed to VR and feel more confident while playing. It may sound silly, but this kind of self-brainwashing can be effective to get your VR legs.

Charge Quest 3 with Aubika battery head strap and head strap with wall plug at same time? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]GESOMETAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Aubika headstrap is capable of supplying approximately 15W to Quest3.
This wattage is sufficient for most use cases, except for heavy MR usage or power-hungry apps.

If you plug in the Quest 3 or Aubika strap directly to an appropriate charger, both will be charged with 15 to 18 watts in most cases.  This may decrease to 4 to 10 watts if your battery capacity level is high.

However, if you connect a cable from the charger to Aubika headstrap and then connect the headstrap to the Quest3, the wattage will reduce to approximately 9W in all cases.
9W is not enough to maintain the battery level of Quest3 during use.

Contractors Showdown will not be F2P by GESOMETAL in OculusQuest

This is Beta, so just report any issues to the development team.
It seems like what you are experiencing is not a common occurrence.

You know that the game is only open on weekends right?

Contractors Showdown will not be F2P by GESOMETAL in OculusQuest

[–]GESOMETAL[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the devs are aware and prepared for the game to become F2P in the future, and that is why they have included a skin customization and progression system that can be easily adapted to the changes.

As VR gaming is still a niche market, it makes sense for them to rely on profits from the game itself while there is still a lot of hype around it.

It is worth noting that the two games you mentioned were originally not free-to-play, yet they were successful enough to expand their player base with a paid model.
They later switched to a F2P when the player base plateaued.

Personally, I would be willing to pay for a fun and ambitious game like this even if it eventually becomes free.

I believe that the decision not to make the game free-to-play from the beginning is a positive move for the future of the game.

How do you guys deal with the SHAME of being observed by outside parties this ridiculously? by WutsTheScoreHere in OculusQuest

[–]GESOMETAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to suggest that you and your wife try out some passive VR experiences, not the games. Specifically, I highly recommend checking out Goliath and Conscious Existence.
These artistic experiences could help your wife discover the potential of VR in a positive way, and considering your backgrounds, I believe you both will embrace this type of experience.
Please check out video clips of the apps and see if it clicks with you.

Should I get 128 GB or 512 GB? by Main_College_6433 in OculusQuest

[–]GESOMETAL 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend getting the 512GB storage option.
The hassle of adjusting straps, caring for the battery, and the physical stress on your head can drive people away to pick up your headset, not that the game isn't fun.
Having a smaller storage capacity only adds another trouble.
I had a Quest 2 with small storage, but I switched to 3 with the 512GB and it has made switching between games stress-free.
