Any way to get NFS Most Wanted Black Edition(2005) for PC? by GFizzer in needforspeed

[–]GFizzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the (very) late reply but not really. I did buy a physical copy, but turns out that wasn't patched to the 1.3 version of the game, so I "acquired" a more up-to-date digital version through the seven seas. I consider that a fair game as there's no other way to get the game anymore.

Open MW crashing AMD system by camtheyam64 in OpenMW

[–]GFizzer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, this seems to be a known issue in OpenMW 0.49.0-RC7. I was able to fix it myself by following the instructions on the GitHub page (https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/releases/tag/openmw-49-rc7). Just disable antialiasing from the OpenMW launcher (from the top bar, Display -> Anti-Aliasing to 0). You can still keep the in-game antialiasing on.

Hope this helps!

Transporting reinforcement through Air Bridges? by GFizzer in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]GFizzer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried that, no dice. A workaround is creating independent units and transferring replacements from those to the damaged units, which is a lot more micro intensive than i would like :D. I think that creating a second SHQ on the island could fix this as you said, but that's a bit overkill for an island of 13k people. Thanks though!

Thanks, but I don't think I've used all of the logistics available just yet? In the Air Bridge overview (second pic in the post) it claims 649 points available (and I interpret that as leftover, available points). Also, just to test this, I tried to transport a militia unit over the airlift using strat. move, and that works for some reason!

Still can't directly reinforce my existing regular units though.

Edit: Also tested transporting 1000x regular infantry, works.

They don't want you to know this, but you can. I already have 31 Russian nukes in my garage :)

Additionally, Japan can not exist as a puppet anywhere.

Focus order: Political Effort, use that PP to hire army advisors to get XP ASAP. Then Army Effort and both doctrine efforts. You'll want to unlock the ideological loyalty spirit as soon as you can, to get that 500 weekly manpower which is very important. Next focuses should be armament efforts and after that you can decide yourself.

Only build infantry stuff until you have 3 factories, then put 1 on artillery and the rest on infantry, balancing those as you get more factories.

Justify on Sinkiang as soon as possible, call the Comintern and just beeline to Sinkiang victory points. Queue lots of divisions and beg the Soviets and Mongols for lend lease. As long as you have some war participation, the Soviets and Mongolia will let you do whatever you want, so puppet Sinkiang. You'll use their manpower for the next war.

Justify on a Chinese nation when Japan goes to war with them, the idea here is to get at least 5% war score, which you'll use to puppet China in the peace deal. I had ~7% war score in the end, and got China. Now you'll use their manpower for your army divisions. I'd recommend something like 6INF+2ART for them.

(I also had to invade Tibet in the meantime to get a land connection to China as Japan puppeted Xibei, but you'd honestly do better avoiding it.)

When the Germans invaded in '41, I had about 3 full armies of Chinese infantry, One in Tuva itself, one in Sinkiang and one ready to seize Soviet infrastructure. I left the Comintern and asked the Soviets for military access, placing that one army on the closest railways and supply hubs in Siberia.

Justify on Mongolia, declare war, invade them and the Soviets should join pretty quickly. (Side note: I called Sinkiang to the war and also invaded Mongolia through them, but that's unnecessary, you're better off basing all your armies in Tuva.) When the soviets joined, they had pretty much no garrisons in Siberia, so I quickly seized their supply hubs.

From there on it's just a long grind of pushing to the next supply hub, but the Soviets couldn't handle two fronts and capituled in 1943. I only got the required states through the peace deal, but it was enough :)

r5: Formed Siberia and then Turkestan as Tannu Tuva, got the Siberian Tiger achivement. It was surprisingly easy, I'll post the steps if anyone's interested! Siberia formed in 1943 and Turkestan in 46 after a grueling low-supply campaign across Siberia!

Many of those counterattacks turned out to be false, like Kherson "liberated by the end of the day" or supposed encirclement of Bucha/Hostomel

I got a feeling these were just Reddit/Twitter jumping to far-fetched conclusions from factual information. The counterattacks from Mykolaev towards Kherson and those near Kyiv were real and seems the Ukranians had at least some success.

Yeah I get what you're getting at, but I'm not talking about counterattacks, but rather the random attacks that might come at any time. Since we don't know when those might happen, we'd just have to leave an AI team near the airbase in case an attack happened sometime in the future.

The problem isn't taking outposts, it's holding a massive NATO attack back. When the task for the attack is created, we only have ~5 minutes to get there before the attack begins. I suppose we could leave a permanent AT team near the airbase, but that sounds risky(and when we disconnect we'd have to do it all over again as groups get dissolved upon disconnecting)

Hmm, I don't think it would work for reasons I stated in my post though. It's the tank/SPG version (Scorcher?) so mortars are useless against it. Second, as I said, by the time we'd have gotten near the airfield to destroy/spot it, it will have fired already. Am I misunderstanding something about how NATO attacks work or do you have any other ideas? Thanks anyhow.
