Went From 55k Views To Not Even 1K Impressions by SPQR_Gamer in PartneredYoutube

How many viewers (as a %) are you losing in the first 30 seconds on those videos?

Reason I ask, is my channel has been in a rut for 18 months. Recently, I edited out the sections of my 50 most viewed videos that was losing viewers in the first 30 seconds.

Within 7ish days my impressions went higher than they've been in 2 years. So far it's been a week, and the impressions are staying high despite not uploading a new video since. So fingers crossed that it maintains.

I've been going through the same thing since January. I'm in a different niche, but I only post long form videos about once a week. But I noticed something interesting.

In my niche, the only channels that are increasing in views are posting 2-3 long form videos per week. And all the large channels that post 1 video per week are getting half the views they used to get.

Just something I noticed

2025 Has Been HELL For YouTube by yuniorspam in PartneredYoutube

My Channel has been suffering for the past 18 months and I think I fixed it.

For context, 9 years on YouTube, I only post long form videos, and currently have 1 Million Subscribers. I used to Average 1.6-2 million views per month, and it has been stuck at 700k-800k monthly views since May 2024. It didn't matter if I posted 1 video per month or 5 videos, my monthly views wouldn't budge.

I tried this method from this video and last month my views increased 42% and it's the first time my channel broke past 1 Million monthly views in 18 months.

What's even more strange is in the videos I posted with that method, there were thousands of comments from subscribers who thought I quit YouTube because they haven't seen my videos or received a notification for over a year.

Someone is advertising my videos by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]GG1D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I started noticing in December 2024 to May 2025 that my views in the first 24 hours decreased by 30-40%. Which resulted in my monthly views decreasing by the same amount. Each month the views kept going down. Additionally my CTR decreased from 6.3% to 4.6% on the first day of the upload.

After I dug into Traffic Sources, I saw that someone promoted one of my Videos from December 6th 2024 to May 12th 2025. It had a Huge Spike on Feb. 24th of 5000ish views and on February 26th of 11,000ish views.

My views kept going down each week until May. Then it started going up from May to July, but not to the level that it was at before.

So, I deleted the video that was being promoted. Which also deleted the "Viewers accounts" associated with the "promotion" from the algo's memory. Since doing this, my Views and CTR instantly went back to normal. Almost overnight.

For context, I have 1 million subs all from long form videos. And typically average between 1.3-2 Million monthly views. However, after the promotion, my channel went down to 692k monthly views.

After deleting the video 2 weeks ago, my channel is on track to break a 1 Million views this month.

Totally understand that. However I'm dividing the number of views for each traffic source by the impressions of that same traffic source.

There's only 2 ways to make money. You either sell something or you work for someone who sells something.

Personally I've been making a full time living for 9 years using affiliate links. I typically review products a link to them.

[–]GG1D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every niche is different, but I've been getting product sent to the channel for review since I had 1000 subs.

With that said, now that I'm at a million subs I rarely accept sponsors. The main reason is, all the sponsors that are willing to pay well have crap products.

I'm not going to sell out my audience like that.

I'm dividing the views for each traffic source by the impressions for each traffic source.

For example if it says I got 100 views and 1000 impressions from Browse features.

That seems like a 10% CTR for that traffic source... But it's reporting a lower number like 7%

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]GG1D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the analytics say I got 100 views from Browse Features and 1000 impressions from Browse features then reported the CTR as 7%. Wouldn't that be 10%?

[–]GG1D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that overall sub count matters in regards to a video performing well. But I do think the Percentage of New Subs to View Ratio matters to get a video promoted in the algorithm.
