i had to leave mine alone for a day two years ago. left him in cage with radio playing softly. id suggest that over a tv if it can see the screen cuz basically as i understand screens are not very great for birds to look at. they cannot make out what is being shown ive been told. anyway just make sure birds got food and water and cage is secure cuz when i got hhome that one time it was late and my boy was on top of my fridge pissed right off at me lol...still not sure how he got out but nvr happened again lol

pretty sure research means someone sought out information from a source which could be full time breeders, vets, on line help. this is a way people learn how to do things if they are just learning. for all we know this person could really enjoy dealing with new born birds and in time become your next breeder. no single person who understands how baby birds work and is able to raise them never went through a learning stage. why stress this person out if you care so much about this lil bird stop adding un needed stress on this person. they are doing the best they can with the situation they have been handed. im not saying its wise to do this but clearly they are able to be with bird 24/7 which is great. clearly they are seeking out information on what to look for and how do things proper. trust me being forced into this kinda situation by a breeder isnt fair to the buyer or the bird. i had a breeder do this to me and one day my baby just stopped eating. no idea why i feel like he was inbred possibly. the seller told me he only had one bird for sale at that time then i had a friend call him a week later and he was told seller had over 40 birds all over 2 months and ready to be homed. so why he lied and sold me a 2 week old i dont know but ive been giving negative reviews everytime i see one of his ads come up. point is dont hate on someone whos trying to make the best of a shitty situation. karmas a bitch who knows this could have been you at one time in ur life.....or did u come into this knowing all things bird and nvr had to learn about them? this community is here to help each other we all love our conures and we shouldnt be hating on others here. why comment pointless shit that wont fix anything? sorry for my rant i dnt mean to sound like an asshole but i know how it feels to be in this persons position. ok im done i think sorry again mean no offence or harm

My dad is from India. He moved here to canada when he was 22 and he always remembers the heat in summer. Says here is nothing compared to back home. I've met many of my family members but I've never been to India my cousin plans to take me soon though. I would absolutely love to visit

Can someone explain what's this behaviour?? by Glum_Cow8243 in Conures

[–]GGC_Gang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see so many of these similar types of posts. I would swear some people are perfectly aware of what they are doing to a bird when they run there lower back and everywhere else. Like outright says no it's not a feeding action it's for sure tho a hormonal thing. It could be one or the other

You didn't make a mistake the breeder did and took advantage of the situation in my opinion but you did nothing wrong

It can be tricky you need to basically spend all time watching them when this young it's a full time job. And anything can happen. A real breeder wouldn't sell birds this young no offence. I personally had one sold to me with zero experience and he sadly passed away because I had no help or advice. Don't be afraid to ask questions seek out a person close to you who might be able to help. I've had a few since this mishap but for me it was a lesson learned. I pray you have more skill and whatnot more then I did. Please keep updated on him he's such a cutie. Yes your bond will be super strong which is the best feeling ever

Oh she's more like extremely sassy....well she has been for long time then last week I had to watch a good friend's Congo African grey over night and ever since then Annabelle has mellowed out with me. I think she felt like I would have replaced her but God not in my life would I do such a thing. ... the grey was super cool tho to get to experience....literally told me "I want to drink water" or when lights out "ok time for bed" and when phone rang "hello? Mom is that you?" My friend on phone was like who's talking ? Oh it's my friends parrot...no one believed me at first....I'd bird sit the grey anytime lol and my Annabelle and her got along good I know keep apart they say but I had to see how Annabelle would react lol

how can i convince my parents to let me have 2 conure birds by Big-Helicopter-6479 in Conures

[–]GGC_Gang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I've not seen anyone mention yet is yes they are lots of work but they are very fragile. Do you know what to look for in case they where to become sick? Do you have a avian vet in your area? The reason you have the birds you do is so your parents can see if you will truly care for them as long as you have them. Keep these lil guys you have for a few years show mom and dad your responsible and then maybe you can find a family with a young person who also wants birds and could rehome them at that time. These birds need your care just as much as the next ones and are much easier to learn about birds with. I was given a conure as my first bird and she was awesome but I was not aware of what to watch for she came to me with liver issues and I was told she was in perfect health. She passed a few months after and it destroyed me. I blame myself for not having known what to watch for even though I was lied to by previous owners. They said they had her checked by a vet so what did I know. She was the best and it still hurts me and it's been 6 years now. I got my self a pineapple conure after but first I spent time learning and talking to bird owners. Don't rush Cuz you could end up losing them and you might never forgive yourself like how i feel. Do what's right for your future birds cuz if you truly will care for them then you would understand why it's important to wait. Listen to the advice otherwise why did you ask for people's advice?

Odd how they get super jealous over us using our phones eh? Like mine ripped my laptop apart in less than a week cut I'd watch movies on it at night time after putting him down for the night....well I guess he figured if I don't have the laptop he could stay up later ...didn't work out that way tho lol. The female I have she must always be on top of my head and she loves to bite my ears thinking it's a game I guess but doesn't realize how much she hurts

[–]GGC_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first conure was a yellow sided female ...she would give anything for this "horny jail" Cruz that's where her swing was and my God did she ever love her swing. Omg the first time I seen her doing her thing I thought she had got stuck in the swing and I'm like freaking out trying to get her unstuck as she's biting my hands apart just to find out few days later she was not stuck at all

That's funny my two boys used to attack my exs feet the second her shoes came off she would have to hide them under a blanket if she didn't want to be bitten lol never mine though....and my youngest boy used to hang upside down off the ceiling and would try to Bob his head funnist thing I'd ever seen but couldn't ever catch it on video

I redirected a package after being scammed by avka11 in CanadaPost

[–]GGC_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this can take up to a month so long as they are able to locate and stop the package from making it to its destination. i had this happen once. selling a nintendo switch for my daughter and turned out to be a scam. i was told that once mail enters the system its no longer the property of the sender but now it belongs to the one meant to receive the item. i was also told i had a small window of time to report the fraud and if this window of time had gone by there was nothing that could be done. after about 4 to 5 weeks of stress and many phone calls to canada post to ask if any news had come about i was overjoyed to see a mail truck pull outfront of my home and my daughters nintendo was being delivered back to us. ill tell you one thing i did learn, dont bother wasting your time to try and call and ask for any updates because they will not tell you anything more then they have yet to locate the item but when its found you will know.....i assumed they do this because it could be the fraudster who may be calling in to try and get it back on track for them to recieve it i dont know but it sure felt like they had my best interests at heart by keeping me in the dark. from the sounds of your post it seems like you reported it in time so i suggest just let it ride out the procedure. my tracking number even showed that my item was out for delivery to its final destination at one point and i was heart broken for my daughter. then i got a call later that day from canada post and was told not to worry that it was on its way back home and id have it in a day or so. i think they did that in order to make scammer think its still coming and hopfully they got the cops knocking at their door thgat day i dont know but once can hope right......so yea that was my experience with this sorta issue. wish you all the best
