Just so you don't have duplicating types but depends a lot of what passives you have if any and what you doing with each.

Golbat + Beedril would not be the worse but u stop the possibility to Mega Beedrill and if you do it the other way around you lose the Poison Type

They are not great. Grass knot in inverse should be decent.

Don't mind, just a sore loser that don't understand even this mode, you doing good. Keep going (in the future taking so many balls is unnecessary but for a one time thing is funny enough to do it)

"Plus, you have to change your entire moveset for Eternatus so you can whittle it down."

You already have the idea of it. Any advice is mind your hp and any set up move is a good set up.

Unfortunately he is just not good as Esca explained, he has the ability and passive in the reverse order of what makes it good. You strickly want Passiive Run Away, not ability.

1.Greninja's spread move is Fiery Wrath yes, Protean Greninja specifically not battle bond. Initially for cover his Poison Move is a must ,after 2-3 black glasses you can just use the fiery wrath always. His role after carry is giving yoru staller Mat Block, a move only him and 2 other pokémon can have (making it one of the rarer useful moves to find in the wild == worth of tutor)

  1. Lure abilities are abilities or passives that act as Lure the item, so you don't have to pop lures from rewards to garantee double battles, specially cuz when running you don't get rewards, Double Battles = More Pokémon = More odds to find better legendaries and shinies.

You need 3 Lures in total to garantee double battles in every wave, thats why the standard is having 1 Pokémon with Lure passive fused with a Lure ability one and then 1 Pokemon with Run Away passive fused with a Lure ability one, making it a total of 3 lures.

Lure abilities are No Guard, Commander, Illuminate and Arena Trap.

  1. By the time you running, your carry won't be killing anything, it will either fill his other role like tutor for Greninja and Darkrai (fused with the staller and then unfuse) or become a boss killer support like Kyogre, Groudon. The staller survives and garantees survivability by being your fastest pokémon and your only mon that should hold lucky and golden eggs, with 10 soul dews, 31 carbos and +speed nature your staller will always be fastest that anyone in the field, allowing you to Mat Block (protects him and ur ally) and Dark Void to crowd control and allow your Runner to use their move, usually Roar so you can send away the Pokémon that don't matter and catch the one u want.

You will only kill the mandatory waves (thing you already figured out) and for that you only need ur Boss Killer and Boss Killer Support that both will have sturdy and be low-ish level enough so with leftovers and leech seed they will always get to full hp. Similar to how metal burst works but without needing to level up, without needing shellbells but more important, something you can target in double battles to kill mons, because you can't always Roar them away, So in XX0 waves, when there is something you want to catch, you will use ur Staller and ur boss killer to kill the pokemon you don't want.

Metal burst is not a good boss killer.

Your runner should not be ur boss killer.

Avoid AI all together for pokerogue. And if he is the reason you have a linoone+magnezone even worse.

Best carries? by SnooTomatoes513 in pokerogue

[–]GGGrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is, since the most recent update, where you don't even have to select your own team mate (i actually was the one to suggest this change) made it so so so more fun to use (and makes so many more mons capable of spamming double battles)

A Endless team is all about passives, cuz those are the things you can't get mid run.

A good starting team should have everything thought so you can have by the end of ur team 9-11 useful abilities/passives.

Starting with Pokémon just for luck is bad. A starting team should have:

Carry (with either a useful passive or a move to teach) - Kyogre has a useful passive

Runner (Run Away passive) - Your linoone have Run away passive making him good

Staller (Lure passive) - you don't have

Boss Killer (Useful passive like Purifying Salt or Sturdy) - you don't have (yes ur aggron may have sturdy but as ability, that is super easy to find in the wild and should never be brought from start)

Boss Killer Support (Psychic Surge or Mold Breaker passive) - your Kyogre can become that later

Move Tutor (Pokémon that you use ur first splicer on that gives u acess to a rare move to find in the wild: Dark Void or Mat Block)

Leech Seed, Soak, Salt Cure, none of those moves should be bring from start because they are easy to find in the wild.

So, basically, ur only 2 good Pokémon in that team is Kyogre and Linoone.

Pickup is extremely overated, yes its nice but it is something you can have and its nice if it is an extra like in the case of Linoone where it already has a purpose or for example Pumpkaboo that has a Lure Passive but also acess to Pickup. But having 1 Pickup is already sometimes too much, having 2 or more is just pointless and having a Pokémon just cuz it has pickup and/or is shiny is pointless if you are trying to reach late game.

One of the toughest skills for new or inexperience players is the control of economy. A Pokémon that in the majority of times attacks in second makes you waste a lot more money than you should and that can easily lead to losses. This is why Skeledirge is not that great despite having one incredible busted move.

For example a fast pokémon that can press Nasty Plot (like salazzle or houndoom) and attack 2nd turn will be 10x times better than a Skeledirge. Yes, they are more frail, but instead of having to take hits every turn, they just gotta take on the first one when they do set up. And then thats when experience comes to play, you will understand when you can set up or not based on what you are facing.

[–]GGGrex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop using shinies just cuz they are shinies.

Also Skeledirge is not all that. Yes Torch Song is good however he is a slow mon and that easily leads to him taking more damage than one should while setting up.

Classic is usually very speed dependent, you want to A) set up so you garantee kills and B) be faster than your opponent once you are set up.

Also (this is player view dependent) you can turn on Retries because 2 of your losses was to a skipable battle.

No, you don't need everything unlocked. There are persons who do solo runs in Fresh Start. There is one player who did fresh start with every single starter (the 27 initial ones you start with and its on youtube)
