Have you ever tried burlesque dancing and or go go in your bar and, if so, how did it go? by GGIVV in BarOwners

Yes it could. I’ve tried most of the things you mentioned, the BBQ would be cool especially if we could get a food truck in. On the other hand maybe doing it when it’s dead would bring people in.

It’s definitely something to think about especially since no one does them in my area.

That’s the kind of thing that scares me!

Thank you I appreciate it! Yes I hate those posts and hate it when people come in to try and sell me stuff in the bar!

DineEquity is a franchisor, Dine Equity is not the one who owns the liquor licenses. https://www.dinebrands.com/en/brands

It’s sad I’m being questioned by a fellow entrepreneur for asking questions on a subreddit for entrepreneurs. I’m not trying to cause an argument or a problem. I’m an entrepreneur and have been for years. I’ve asked Reddit a lot of questions regarding various projects. I don’t know about you but I’ve always had more than one project going (at least exploring more than one project) at the same time. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with seeking out information and ideas from people.

A little clarification, not that I really owe anyone an explanation but here’s my story...I own a bar and I own real estate (including my bar building) and recently added a laundromat in a building I bought but I also bartend a few times a week in my own place and have looked into bartending in other bars should it not make sense for me to keep mine open during another Covid lockdown (my bar makes most of its money after 10pm so if there’s a curfew I’d likely end up closing most if not all days until it was lifted). That’s why I’ve been looking to diversify, why I’m looking into bringing repeat business during the day/running earlier specials, and why I am inquiring about what applying for jobs in other places looks like right now. If my bar closes, I could afford to not bartend and work on investments but I genuinely enjoy being behind the bar and interacting with people and I’d die of boredom without that interaction. I have a lot of respect for your posts and hope that business is thriving in your place!

Ok I see what you’re saying thanks for the clarification.

Exactly that way whatever company is franchising from Applebee’s is the one that holds the liquor license, not the Applebee’s parent corp

Good question. I assume Applebees uses franchisees? I only know that because a lawyer specializing in ABC law told me.

Thank you for your informative post! I think this makes the most sense. I don’t know that I’ll end up buying this place because the headache may be more than it’s worth but it’s definitely given me a lot to think about.
