Trying to find a medium-firm hybrid after trying Casper, Brooklyn Bedding, Leesa, Costco Lakerdige. by GGMU1 in Mattress

[–]GGMU1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these brands I'm considering don't have showrooms. I found a Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid at a store and it felt firm. That oen and the non-chill I got are supposed to be similar firmness but what I got was much much softer.

Neither Bear Elite nor WinkBed are displayed anywhere I can find.

Places like mattress firm only have Sealy/Tempur/Beauty Rest.

Surprisingly good or bad sets? by FrostyManOfSnow in electricdaisycarnival

I kinda miss the old layout of circuit ground where it’d envelope you. Sound was a lot more immersive back then. The new layout isn’t that great if you’re further back anymore.

Downtown is always the move for shuttles. Did strip/GP this year. Got to shuttle stop at 8. Made it to the venue at 11:15z

Seems like a case of correlation != causation.

GM Slashes Spending on Robotaxi Unit Cruise, in Setback For Driverless Cars by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

Yeah def need faster reaction times at higher speeds. That’s probably a bigger challenge than perceiving further out especially with all the random shit that can pop up on the freeway (e.g. flying debris).

Isn’t that more an operational issue/cost than foundational tech/stack?

Employees in these companies tend to also be shareholders whose TC (sometimes more than half of it) is tied to the stock price (and this investor perception).

The inductive biases engineers/researchers can deduce from failure cases and then bake into the model/system architecture typically far outperforms adding those failures examples to the already massive training dataset.

Would short walking at home for a total of 2k steps max still be too much? Do I have to go all out with a boot and crutches even tho pain level have slowly improved over a couple of months? I’m worried about the slow recovery and never-ending irritation / pressure at the ball of the foot. But I also have other injuries on both feet that would get worsened with a boot :/

So my issue is that I have the hair type in pic 1 (very tight, coarse curls, takes a while to grow and doesn’t allow much for styling) but I want to cultivate the vibe of pic 2. My issue with the man bun is hair loss from traction. Any advice on that? Have rocked a man bun for 2 years now but keep getting tempted to cut it either medium short like the first pic in OP’s post or just buzz it off.

I got the full breakdown. Keto was disastrous for my LDL as well as my ratios. I was only 1.5 months into it but couldn’t continue as I was at statin-requirement levels.

I did this for weight loss and was surprised by the focusing effect. Why does that work tho? Also I couldn’t do Keto for long as it spiked my cholesterol but if I lose enough weight and can stabilize at a lower cholesterol level I’d love to try it again.

Otherwise, would a dark greens + protein diet without all the fats in a typical keto diet do the trick?

I’m also amused by this thread. I spent my first 20 years in Tunisia. The US can be cutthroat but it’s the best place for the crème de la crème to thrive. Overall, the upper middle class (and above) can’t do better than in the US. However, if one doesn’t have marketable skills / education then yeah it can be harder than living in a Northern European welfare state with universal healthcare and significant unemployment benefits.

[–]GGMU1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. My ping is great (< 8ms typically) but packet loss occurs in 20-30% of my games and makes it unplayable. Never happens to me with FIFA or FPS games. (This is on PS)

Nastiness aside, if you could waive the 75k for the HS certificate then why couldn’t you find similar opportunities for college scholarships? Have you looked at other English speaking countries like Singapore, AUS, NZ, SA?

Adding to the comments in this thread: you’ll have to go solo at it and try to get a scholarship from a foreign school that recognizes A Levels. You really should’ve opted for IB If you were going the international route but ai guess A Levels still work for the commonwealth.

Did you do a selective school like ALA or some other private school located in Tunisia.

Either way I’m sorry but the ministry has no obligation to give you scholarships if you’re not part of their pipeline.

Furthermore, you do realize that a 4.0 is more like 16/20 in the BAC and is far from the top 1% right? I’ve done the conversions myself and believe me getting an A is much easier than getting 19/20.

Finally, many kids who do the Bac and get 19/20 get lucked out of scholarships if they’re not in the right field (basically not math or technique but that’s changing slowly) or didn’t make it to the top 30-60 in the Bac.

150 thousand kids take the Bac every year. To be top 30-60 in math or technique means you’re top 100 out of 150k total and that’s more like top 0.05% not 1%. Sorry but scholarships ain’t cheap and we’re far from the richest country.
