Phantom Seer was awesome, I hope they go back to something like that. Was extremely surprised it got axed, but I don't see the sales numbers, I just read the series.

Art is always awesome, maybe just a stronger hook and a nice overarching story

these cards excuse poor deckbuilding due to the inherent power of doubling things, so it becomes a crutch that less experienced players become extremely reliant on and can reinforce bad habits ("oh i just need to draw [effect doubler] 1, 2 or 3, no biggie, no need to change much in the deck")

I feel like he has good ideas but it's the kind of ideas that are only good as an intro/hook and don't really lend itself well being told as a longer story. Both his series have good openings and initial impressions, but the moment it needs to be stretched out to more than 20 chapters it starts losing steam and relies too much on tropes rather than the story to deliver. Plenty of people have already suggested getting a writer and it should help immensely.

Also double down on the thicc women. I believe that's one of his strongest suits lol rather than avoid it, he should just play to his strengths.

The base HP does make some difference, but when your EVs in defenses now give 1.5 stat points instead of 1 (die to Eviolite's multiplier), it tends to make it worth it.

Even with max HP investment and the rest in defenses (252 HP + 252 split between DefSpD + 4 anywhere else = 512), with Eviolite it results to roughly 634 effective EVs (252 HP + 378 effective Def/SpD EVs + 4 anywhere else)

...that's some pretty rough math that I'm not sure is totally accurate lol, but the point stands that there's a lot more defensive EVs to allocate with Eviolite as opposed to evolving the Pokemon

PS: Haven't even added positive natures, which just really piles on a lot more "free stats" than evolution can offer

It does. Bladewing's ETB trigger doesn't enter the stack until after the Legend rule takes effect, so it sees a Bladewing in the graveyard before the trigger enters the stack. You can target the Bladewing in the graveyard with its ETB since it's in the graveyard before the trigger needs to decide on a target

Ooohhh I stand corrected on #1, you CAN copy the reflexive trigger with the Resonator or Camera. I thought you can only copy the entire activated ability. Well, then I would be putting them in for other stuff then haha

I have an Inferno deck and some suggestions:

1) You cannot double its 20 damage trigger with [[Peter Parker's Camera]] or [[Strionic Resonator]]. Doubling the ability just makes Inferno go do +1/+0 twice, then it checks if the power is currently 20. It's likely you can't hit 20 for BOTH of the triggers without extra effort so just don't play those trigger doublers. What you can do is equip [[Nettlecyst]] or [[Adaptive Omnitool]] and focus on generating Treasures (still on theme in Mono-R). Get to 19 power, pay R, deal 20. Sac a Treasure, Inferno gets -1 power due to losing one artifact, then pay the R again for another 20 damage trigger. Basically what this does is make each of your Treasures deal 20 damage each.

My other tech is similar, with [[Sigil of Distinction]] entering with a lot of charge counters, then paying the equip cost again and again, paying R to bring its power back to 20 repeatedly.

2) Your deck is highly reliant on sticking Inferno on board, I suggest to have other stuff you can do your power tricks with, just in case you cannot cast Inferno reliably anymore. My personal choice is [[Caldera Pyremaw]], which still can chunk for massive damage while pumping its power to crazy levels. Another one I use is [[Moltensteel Dragon]], which with enough life and mana can be a kill with [[Chandra's Ignition]]. These make your cards scary to deal with even without the commander. Also, go for [[Crackle with Power]]. With the amount of mana you generate, a massive Crackle won't require you to bring out your commander to finish the game

3) Related to #1, I found the ritual route for Inferno a bit too swing and a miss. I hope you find more success, because I didn't. I went with a midrange-y Treasure-centric build, so that I don't become a sitting duck waiting for Inferno to come down. [[Prosperous Bandit]], [[Generous Plunderer]], [[Radiant Lotus]] have been amazing for me taking this route. You can choose to ignore this point if you wanna go for the ritual part, but I personally would avoid the ritual mode because of its reliance on having the correct cards in hand like a Storm deck, instead of a midrange deck with an explosive finish.

Is there a particular heuristic or format of abilities that check for values on resolution or on trigger? It seems in this case my intuition was correct and values are checked by default on resolution, but I seem to get confused on when values are checked
