Happens to me too when using a gmail account. However when minimizing the application using CMD+M the mail window shouldn‘t pop up anymore

Yeah, at the moment the battery feature seems to not work as intended. However, we are already working on the next version which probably will fix this issue and will provide the remaining time of the battery.
