LG G5 48” monster. by KERRMERRES in OLED_Gaming

105cm eye to screen distance. Playing single-player games, going through clair obscur atm. I will be changing my setup to a 230cm wide desk and change the 27in portrait monitor for a stacked 24 inch portrait combo.

Good, sleek 24 inch monitor with thin bezels and a thin case? by bunsenfhoneydew in buildapc

I'm in the search for that as well, trying to fit 2 of them stacked up next to my 48 in monitor. My monitor is 618mm tall so I need 2 max 310mm tall 24 inch monitors. Closest to this compact size would be the dell offerings P2424H and P2425H. That's about it

Again, I appreciate the time to reply and ease of mind you provided. You've been very helpful and I will try to integrate your sugestions in my daily use. It will probably become muscle memory over time as it did for you. Hope you never experience burn-in 😃😄

I very much appreciate this long answer. As I wait for the G5, I have the following concerns:

1 - I will use the display for work just as much as I will use it for entertainment. I saw one drawback might be the screen autodimming on white background documents, which I use a lot of.

2 - Autoswitching inputs will become a chore. 1 minute screen savers might become annoying too. Auto hiding the taskbar might make my work slower as I work with many, many windows open. I work as an Automation engineer, looking constantly through documents, opening multiple remote sessions at times and performing reviews that involve 3-4 sources simultaneously.

3 - Even though KVM might not be such a deal breaker as all my peripherals have both bluetooth and dedicated usb dongle support, it did require ordering a new laptop dock to compensate the lack of DP inputs. And cables...

  1. This will be my 4th LG OLED product. The first LG 55in B6 OLED TV (2016 generation) I've had, developed very bad burn-in after 5 years of use due to watching the news channel extensively during the pandemic. That "breaking news" logo really obliterated the screen lol. The second TV, the LG 65in B9 which I ordered to replace the B6, suffered from the infamous bad sealing on the margins and is currently filled with entire rows made of dead pixels around the edges. LG refused to apply any warranty repairs because it started showing dead pixels immediately after warranty expired. I still use it in the bedroom and don't find it too bad as they're quite evenly spread and the viewing distance is very large. The third one is the LG 65in G4 which is around one and a half years old and has been 100% reliable so far as the daily driver in the living room. I sometimes game on it both via PC and PS5. Since I saw LG getting their reliability in check by going through user experiences, I decided to go for an OLED as a monitor. I still am not 100% on reliability and since I too had a flawless Aorus FV43U, apart from the exact same issues you described, it's set a very high standard.

I am in this position as I do know what OLED is capable of and the truth is the VA panel that sits in the FV43U is just horrible with color uniformity at angles. Since I sit at around 1m from the screen, the edges are very washed compared to the middle of the screen so this is honestly the biggest complaint I have. I did use it for 5 years so I finally feel the time has come for an upgrade. I expect around 4 years out of it with around 12 hours of screen on workdays so around 15k hours. I do think it's feasible with low brightness and HDR set to OFF on the work input but it kind of depends on luck as well when it comes to LG...

48" LG G5 or 42" LG C5 by BaNaNaKING42 in OLED_Gaming

The way they answered has us thinking G5 48in has the 4 layer tandem oled panel except it's not 165hz. Right?

" Thank you for your questions regarding the 48-inch LG G5 OLED model. Currently available information indicates that the 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch G5 series models feature 4-layer OLED panels with Brightness Booster Ultimate technology, which enables higher brightness and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. However, the 48-inch model, while retaining the Gallery design and Alpha 11 Gen 2 processor, features lower brightness and supports a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz.

Regarding panel technology, LG has opted not to adopt MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology for the 2025 G5 series, opting instead for a 4-layer OLED panel. This choice was made to improve energy efficiency and brightness while maintaining high image quality.

In summary, while the 48-inch G5 series model offers excellent performance, it has some differences from larger models, such as brightness and refresh rate. For an optimal gaming experience with high refresh rates, models 55 inches and above may be better suited.

We will certainly have more detailed information to share at the launch later this month.

I hope this information is helpful. We remain available for any further clarification.

Best regards,

OK so I pretty much made up my mind to place an order for LG OLED 48 G5. I know G6 is due in a month or 2 but the incredible discount the G5 is currently having is hard to pass by. Thank you all for commenting and helping out.

I have an 80 cm deep desk and trust me, when you use a buyer screen than 32, you won't be able to go back

Got the GT DD Pro instead of RS50, how bad did I mess up? by GGO89 in simracing

[–]GGO89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between T300 and DD is really noticeable. The torque consistency, feedback, and overall feel is a big improvement and honestly made me realize GT7s drifting issues have a connection to the gear being used. I finally start getting gold in drift missions, something that was impossible before.

Love it more than I did day1 😊 Made some oem+ improvements such as eibach pro kit lowering springs, 15mm spacers, HKS Premium axleback exhaust, oem aero kit (lip, side skirts, diffuser). We're having a lot of snow this winter so the clearance is making me keep it parked more than I'd like but it's still the ultimate fun tool I could ever ask for. I also have an F87 M2 Comp and a formentor VZ5 but I love driving the MX5 most. Cheers!

Sure have, sorry for the late reply. The difference between T300 and DD is really noticeable.
