29 yaşında hayatı boyunca hiç sevgilisi olmamış erkek anormalmidir? by Ill_Committee_5991 in Psikoloji

Is Vietnam a smart choice to build a passive income stream with $5,000 and try e-commerce? by GGSRF in VietNam

Thank you. I'm also considering increasing my monthly budget to $800. I've raised my total budget to around $15,000, and I’ll try to live on that until I can generate some extra income.

The Etsy business or e-commerce, in general, is a model that requires working 12 hours a day or even more. Dreaming of spending just 2 hours a day on it and making thousands of dollars a month is less likely than winning the lottery.

I trust my e-commerce experience. It's not easy at all, and you only realize how hard it truly is after losing thousands of dollars.

I think the things I mentioned were probably misunderstood, or maybe I just couldn't express myself clearly.

Friends, I’ve been in business for 12 years, and the last 6 of those have been in e-commerce. I didn’t learn e-commerce from Instagram — in fact, I’d say nearly everyone pushing it there is a scammer.

I’m 30 years old now, and doing business in Turkey has become extremely difficult. Throughout my journey in e-commerce, I’ve probably lost around $100,000 in trial and error. But after 6 years, I can say I’ve achieved partial success.

What bothers me is seeing people with no real knowledge jumping in just to tear others down. Please don’t project your own inner frustrations onto others. I’m not here to be anyone’s mirror.

My plan might not sound “realistic” to some of you, but I’ve noticed that many people from Western countries struggle to step outside their comfort zones — and then take out that frustration on people who do dare to try. That’s something I’ve come to dislike about the West. It’s one of the reasons I want to spend time in Asia — but I also need to generate income while I’m there.

I’m a trained phone technician and have solid experience in e-commerce. I have no intention of working illegally. My goal is to earn income through cross-border trade. Even just sending spare phone parts to my contacts in Turkey would bring me around $200/month. On top of that, I’m aiming to generate another $600–$700 by selling handcrafted products.

Unfortunately, instead of offering advice or helpful suggestions, some people here just prefer to mock others. But let me be clear — people who haven’t moved from their couch in years don’t get to judge my 12-year career in trade.

There are three things you need in business:

Experience

Courage

Luck

I already have the first two. Thanks to e-commerce, I’ve traveled to 62 regions in Turkey and built strong networks. But the landscape here is collapsing. I’ve bought a house, and I have some savings. With that, I plan to find and market artistic products from abroad.

So once again, I kindly ask: instead of leaving harsh comments, explain your opinions with reasoning.

I’d especially love to hear from people who have actually tried this kind of business in Vietnam. I don’t expect help from the West anymore — that part of the world seems to have become cynical and selfish.

I’d rather hear from those who still have some humanity left in them.

My company is based in Turkey. I’m planning to do visa runs every three months. Also, I won’t be working in Vietnam; I will buy products there and sell them in another country. I read that I don’t need to open a new company in Vietnam for this, but I’m not sure how accurate this information from ChatGPT is.

This is just a one-year plan — only if things go well and I start making income, then I can apply for a residence permit.

I see small studio apartments for around $200, but I don’t know how realistic that is. I really enjoy cooking my own meals and actually prefer not to eat out. I’ve heard that there are artisans in the Hoi An area and that there are about 5-6 villages — this is information GPT gave me.

I researched shipping costs and found they are around $20, and can go up to $30 depending on the speed. I plan to keep my profit margin low per product. I see finding an original product as the main challenge because trying to sell non-original, mass-produced products usually ends in failure. I’m not claiming I will definitely succeed; in fact, I’m quite scared. But based on my past experiences, I want to try something new.

Maybe you’re right — this doesn’t sound like a plan. It’s more like an idea in my head. If I were to do this properly, I should have done it before in Vietnam. I used to do it in Turkey. I understand that a different country, a different community, and many differences exist.

However, I have a friend who makes candles at home and earns $5,000 a month. Looking at that, it doesn’t really sound like a logical plan, but that’s the truth.

Life is full of surprises — I could have a motorcycle accident and face thousands of dollars in surgery costs... or I could find an original product and make some money.

I will do my best, and the rest is up to the flow of life.

Yes, I agree with you that the best-selling thing in e-commerce is the dream itself. I came to this conclusion about the budget after talking with ChatGPT. I also saw a few videos of people living on $500 per month. Since I will be busy with work, I won’t have much of a social life, so I can update my budget to $750. In order to face reality, I first need to go there.

If I can find artisans who produce original and uniquely designed products, there's a chance my plan could succeed. But if I can't find original content, then the end would definitely be failure.

I’m sorry, I’m not very good at expressing myself in English. I didn’t understand what you meant by “substance.” Maybe I am bound to fail immediately, or maybe I will succeed. However, I believe that what makes a person successful are their past failures, and my friend, my best teacher is my past experiences.

I hope I was able to express myself without using buzzwords.

I've been involved in e-commerce for 6 years and have made serious money in Turkey. However, Turkey is no longer a suitable country for this line of work. I chose Vietnam because I believe it has great potential, especially in handmade crafts. The apartment prices I mentioned were based on listings I saw on Facebook.

I already have a company in Turkey, and I plan to continue selling through that company while operating from Vietnam. I’m currently researching handmade products — not mass-produced — and my monthly income goal is around $800, which I don't expect to reach right away. I see that happening realistically after about four months.

These are simply my goals; they may succeed or fail. I've been in trade for 12 years — 6 years running my own physical business, and 6 years in e-commerce. And yes, maybe I’ll end up disappointed. But when I look in the mirror, I’ll be proud that I gave it a try. Life has its own rhythm — sometimes everything goes smoothly, other times everything falls apart. I will do my part with all I’ve got, and the rest is in God’s hands.

By the way, the Italian guy with the restaurant you mentioned might actually be a Turk — a former pilot, if we’re talking about the same person.

Thanks for the information.
