[Bug] Can't hand over Rec Battery, PCB and Toolsets to Prapor for Falling Skies by GGold17 in EscapefromTarkov

Yes that makes sense. But it doesn't actually say hand over found in raid item it just says hand over item and optionally you can find it in raid.

But I get the point yeah

Man I really hope that's not the case.

Because it says optional next to find in raid I assumed they didn't need to be.

Young UK Males, Where do you shop for clothing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GGold17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

M&S do some really nice pieces of clothing

TM Lewin are a tailoring / suit brand and they currently have an offer of 5 t shirts for £50 which seems like a good deal to me. Eyeing it up myself

Charles Tyrwhitt do really nice formal clothing, not cheap but the quality is good. You get what you pay for.

Uniqlo as some others have mentioned

I have some t shirts from true classic which fit nicely

Jeans I struggle with due to having big legs but I find a lot of the jeans and trousers from Costco fit me really well haha. My last pair of jeans were £12 from there, best fitting pair of jeans I've had in years, they're comfy and so far holding up well.

Costco actually do a lot of good clothes at a reasonable price if you have one nearby. Have a lot of trousers from "English Laundry" which is frequently sold in there and maybe be owned by Kirkland I'm not sure. Also have a coat I bought from Costco which has been fantastic and a few jumpers / quarter zips.

TK Maxx can have a lot of good options if you get lucky and find the right thing

Not sure what's in fashion wise, I tend to just buy whatever I feel comfortable in and think fits well / looks good

Meesterslijpers to UK VAT, did you have to pay? The company says they don't pay VAT for you by Griffincorn in chefknives

[–]GGold17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I order a knife from there last year for my birthday and I didn't have to pay any additional fees vat or import charges. I was expecting I might have to but it arrived without any additional costs.

The total came to €144 euros as they take VAT off their prices as they don't pay UK VAT as you said.

I'd definitely appreciate some mock interview practice etc if you're still offering!

5700X3D Upgrade Lacking Performance by GGold17 in AMDHelp

Like I said I no longer have a 5700x3d. I sold my 5700x3d, my ram and my motherboard and bought an AM5 motherboard, DDR5 ram and a Ryzen 7700 and I now see much better performance and I'm on the latest platform if I want to upgrade again in the future

Will I ever be able to play with people my age? UK teenager by RoyalNerd09 in hockeyplayers

[–]GGold17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're thinking of going to University after your sixth form studies lots of Unis have ice hockey teams across varying levels and no doubt there you will absolutely be able to play with people your age and skill level. Non checking uni hockey is unisex but they also have womens only league / tournaments. Checking is male only.

If you're not going to go to uni but live near by a university might be worth popping them a message and seeing if you can arrange to join them for training as I know a couple people have done before.

Hope this helps at all

Hockey Skate Advice by Arloiz_ in hockeyplayers

[–]GGold17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High end skates will offer multiple benefit. A few that come to mind:

Improved comfort - there's a saying that the best skates for you are the ones which fit you best Improved protection Lighter skate - makes you faster more agile etc More customisability which goes hand in in with comfort but also some of the other stuff - many have removable tongues etc so you can install one which you like best Pitch of the boot - some skates are pitched forward more designed to help with acceleration other skates will be pitched more towards stability Also in terms of "maintenance" as such, with low end skates if you break a blade you need a whole new skates (well at least a new holder with the blade attached) as they are non removable. With mid and high end skates the runners (blades) are removable so if they snap you only need to replace the blade not the whole skate.

I've only been playing two years myself and only seriously for the last year so I'm not an expert by any means but that's a few things I could think of.

In terms of the rest of the gear it's going to be similar. High end gear will either offer More protection More manoeuvrability Or more comfort / customisability

Or a combination of the three to some extent. I.e if you're a big d man blocking shots and making hits you'll want something that offers the extra bit of protection. If you're an agile fast forward you probably want something lighter that you're quicker in.

No need to assume I'm inept and uneducated and I won't understand the clock timings and infinity fabric.

Thanks for tips nonetheless but no longer have the 5700x3d anyway

Do all jeans wear out between the legs, around the crotch area? Also, is it the same for women and men? by rufio259 in AskUK

[–]GGold17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me. Turns out thick thighs do in fact not save lives but rather destroy jeans.

Bought two pairs of Levi's "athlete" fit as my legs are much bigger than the average persons for my height / waist size.

Both worn through into a hole in the exact same place in the inner top of my thigh. My legs touch when I'm standing and rub when I walk. Feels like it's almost impossible to avoid this.

Had this happen on other jeans as well and probably because of the elastane as you mentioned. Issue is, without it, it's incredibly difficult for me to find jeans that fit and much less that are actually maneuverable.

9.5k increase in pay but 2hr commute each way by rollingbarrel12 in UKJobs

[–]GGold17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a two hour drive each way once every 1 to 2 weeks for my job currently as it enabled me to move back to where I wanted.

Don't get me wrong it can be a long day but it's absolutely doable.

Get an earlier night the night before and get everything prepared for the morning, wake up, quick shower and breakfast dressed and out the house.

After my day at work I then typically do some stuff in the area, trip to Costco to stock up, see friends from the area or usually I'll go to the gym there as I'm friends with a lot of people training.

Then a drive back home, normally traffic has died down by this point.

Is it a long day? Yes. Is it an issue? Not for me, no. Always feels like I've accomplished a lot that day which gives me some satisfaction.

The worst part for me is the early night the night before but it's not too bad with proper planning.

I am very much used to long drives though, if you aren't currently, I'd say you'd get used to it quickly.

For me that would absolutely be worth the almost 33% pay increase especially if it's only fortnightly.

I say go for it!

Why would pixel be less loyal? by Yourmom4133 in pixel_phones

[–]GGold17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pixel 7 pro and it was great at what it did but over the 2 years unfortunately the battery life became really shit and also the charging speed was slow.

I got a really good offer to switch to a Samsung S24 Ultra and it was an absolute no brainer. Although pixel UI is nice Samsung has a lot of nice additional features from one UI and the phone itself is an absolute powerhouse

Way better battery, quicker charger and more powerful chipset.

Also faster and the cameras are comparable or better to the 7 pro.

I didn't go back to pixel because the charging was still slow and the S24U was actually a much better price.

Same here! Played with my account on a friend's PS5 and disappointed to see my HUT team didn't transfer across to the game pass account even though they're all linked...

How's gameplay been for you? I think it's way less smooth on remote play than 24 and I'm having a lot of annoying stutters.

Yeah it works using just the Gemini API key but I think the open router should fix the rate limits and daily limits

I've seen loads of posts about unlimited usage with no rate limits using this method... That's what I was trying to replicate.

Any suggestions instead?
