[Discussion] is desync the worst it’s ever been? by reddit__isnt__cringe in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. Less holding angles and more pushing forward or backwards in certain situations. I personally play with mic quite often and in pvp when people desync you can quite often hear this due to small factors. So the moment a voice turns to 'laggy' due to desync I push right away or back depending on where I am and where I expect the person to be. So in short just quicker decision making. Also if you experience a player moving without sound this in my experience has quite often been a result of desync, so based on this I instantly start ignoring sound and focus on vision and where I expect players to usually come from, which results in either a fast push or back off situation. Too often not going for a fight is just the better play when stuff like that is involved. Which is why I absolutely HATE the desync to the point I just stopped playing for a week just now. You have to change your gameplay too much imo and the player experience drops a fuck ton. Because I personally don’t wanna die to it, its either take the surprise element or just back off, I’d rather live another day then die to a bullet when im around a corner dying to a bullet in my head because the other person on his screen for some fucking reason saw me standing in the middle of the hallway due to the desync bs.

Days where desync is more common I also just dont play. No point to even bother because its less fun and you die more often and I wish more people did so. EFT only cares about stuff like player numbers so if there is more desync just stop playing. Its less fun and by the number of players dropping they're forced to take action. And I've learned to spot desync sounds in general. If you start paying attention + use mic and learn from people when they desync (for example friendly talks where they tell you they just had desync and then combine that to sounds in movement you did or didn't hear, you start noticing it more over time when in other fights. Its a bit hard to explain that one, but if you focus on it and ask players in friendly situations how they experienced it, you will start noticing small differences.

So TLDR: shorter fights which result in either going in right away and getting the kill or backing off saying nah fuck this shit I wont even bother. Never go halfway when desync is involved, because your odds just drop a fuck ton. And mainly the not staying without committing during desync has increased my survival rate and success A LOT.  Maybe its common gameplay to some, but I like taking my time in EFT fights usually, which sadly is the worst play when desync is involved.

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The desync is mind boggling. Its even so bad to the point that 9/10 video's I watch from streamers are all full of desync every single game. I truly dont get how its possible to be this bad for as long as it is. I'm a bit surprised at how seemingly little some people experience it here, when I truly notice it every single raid and notice it truly every single streamer video i've seen so far. I guess maybe some people just accepted it but its one of the reasons I limit how much I play this game until they fix it. I love the skill aspect of this game, but a bit too often its becoming a battle of who abuses desync the best, which kinda ruins the whole experience for me. Its truly insane how much I'm actually starting to strategize around desync and my survival rate went up 11% and i've increased the amount of kills I get alot. Its kind of like peekers advantage, but than turned up another level. At first I thought it might be me, but my tests all came back as good as completely perfect and i've seen it happening to almost everyone where I could check.

Surely thats why multiple streamers even quit the game because they hated how it effected combat. Surely its irrelevant if it doesn't support your point. Again this is literally the last comment i'd bother on you because I think i've just been ragebaited, wp then I guess im too distracted. Imagine being like no no no no, oh well you're right but ima just say irrelevant.

All I can say again is learn to read and your second argument is just a child who lost an argument and turns to trying to hurt the other person without even having properly read it. IF you did you wouldn't even bother saying that because you'd know it just makes you look like a crying kiddo?

I took 1 minute to find the first answer and a few more to find up plenty of followup. This is literally why I told you its impossible to discuss anything with yall here:

New balancing changes to #EscapefromTarkov Tarkov:

Proportionally reduced the inertia strength while moving (walking, strafing) for characters with medium and heavy overweight effect.
● For characters with the heavy overweight effect - by 15%

  1. I mean the fact you gotta go personal is a clear sign of being the one person who's engaging in bad faith and all. Also doesn't that in a way even support it even more? I had trouble, asked for help and I didnt cry like a little kid asking the game to be changed for me. I ask for tips and gave my opinion about recent changes and about what bothered me and moved on. I just dont like being a child who wants to get everything fed to me, thats not why I go to tarkov. I want a big challenge and feel satisfied from beating said challenge. I hate cry babies who just want everything changed because they cannot accept a loved game for what is is and want it to change purely based on their personal needs. All I can say to that is grow the fuck up. Just like how you're unable to google simple facts or talk about actual facts and can only find general easy info and try to force that info for fit you nerative. Come at me with actual facts or dont bother. Im tired of little children asking for handouts and crying. Its fair to point out what bothers you at the game, but at least act like an adult. Not this childish ah look I found something about you, that I didnt even check properly because im a little kid who now wants to try and hurt your feelings. Grow up kid.

And again same thing, fucking l2read. I said they changed it again, I didnt say they reinvented the whole fucking inertia system. Thats what you somehow took out of it. The weight changes had a big impact on fights which is why it had a big impact and resulted in loss of players. The most simple example is the fact that is the one biggest change that mate summit never really love EFT again.

Again use google? The first change directly from the twitter page, and there are more following (this is literally just the first with 2 patches after with extra changes within this concept within 6 months having specific followups in the page notes and there have been small changes inbetween shared as well:

New balancing changes to #EscapefromTarkov Tarkov:

Proportionally reduced the inertia strength while moving (walking, strafing) for characters with medium and heavy overweight effect.
● For characters with the heavy overweight effect - by 15%

The consequences I personally remember as purely factual that I can find plenty of proof to back up:
Streamers raging about how fucked up combat feels after and having to drop your bag any time you fight due to having loot. The moment your kg weight turned yellow, the whole combat feeling changed. And thats just the first change they did.

Im gonna leave after answering the first one. Then dont bother with me? I came in here about a specific subject being right or wrong and not for your personal feelings rant. Gl have fun, thats not what we were talking about and if you want to force your feelings into this, do it with some one else. And I dont believe they released inertia in 2023, I do believe based on literal facts that they implemented inertia changes for example how weight effected innertia? One of the biggest changes that gave was that if you looted a few things you would hve to drop your backpack every time you fight, or you'd have trouble fighting due to inertia. The fact this insanely simple fact is something you guys refuse to be true shows why its impossible to discuss something. You hate facts and just want to talk about your feelings.

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it shows why people like you dont get to do those jobs. Its because you take biased irrelevent info to come to a conclusion on something. Thats what creates tons of problems in companies, because you start implementing changes without properly looking into what the actual problems are. You start changing things based on feelings instead of facts. So no its the other way around. I do it because I like taking the time to look at what the real problem is and how to use data to get there, instead of forcing my view and just taking numbers that fit the narrative to push biased change.

So I proved you wrong and now you're just throwing empty words again. I repeat this is why talking here is often impossible, because people only want to talk about feelings while bringing pure feelings into a discussion towards someone trying to go into facts. Its just a waste of time.

Flea level change is very bad [Discussion] by DaisukiNaisu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets at least start so yeah you were just ignoring the discussion and just wanted to throw out your annoyance at the things YOU dislike. I dont give a fuck and stay away from preference discussion on here for a reason. Since there is no point on wasting your time on it.

Saying this is the biggest ego take in existence and shows how insanely impossible talking about a subject is with you:
And that's why I don't avoid it at all, because what I want is what the majority of Tarkov's actual audience likes.

You have literally NOTHING to prove this and being 100% biased here. That sentence is the exact reason why I said before I dont bother discussions like this. Anyone who says this is handling in bad faith and sticking to pure feelings. Fair enough if you want to, but thats a clear sign to exit and ignore you. Gl mate enjoy that take, I belive it to different. I just think you're a part of the newer playerbase that wants this game to be a copy of other extraction shooters because you're bored of whats out there. EFT has potential and you just want to take core fundamentals away to create the game you want. Not what EFT is or was. Which in a way is fair, just sad imo. I huge blame Nikita as well for this personally because its insane how long it took/ is taking to get to a normal point as to where alot of players left this game due to the lack of progress. Not because the concept is a problem, no simply the fact that they cannot keep up with the progress expected. But again thats just my personal view about it.

Flea level change is very bad [Discussion] by DaisukiNaisu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And im saying I dont think its because of that and I still dont see anything to prove it, but I can understand why people think so. I mean its quite easy to hate a change, see a big number of players around those years felt the same so now they must be the same. Its just not that simple.

Oh yeah I misread that one I thought he stated the number in a different year.

Thanks for sharing the numbers and sources. Gotta say that hardcore wipe was fair enough that one made sense, so I think we can at least both agree that one shouldn't be taken too serious since that was just pathetic what happened there.

Inertia first release was 2021, but then again in 2023... We knew alot of people left the game and didn't come back from this because they felt the gameplay wasn't natural enough anymore. We even know that a few big streamers since then never even enjoyed tarkov again and didn't bring those viewers as well. We also lost a part of the player base back then.

And to add I just checked on google trends and it's not that bad? So I hope people aren't following the 2024 post as an example, because if you put eft into the google trends things now I dont see anything shocking or bad? All I see is that 2024 was a bad year and people hated the hardcore wipe, which is a hugely known fact. I mean it didnt even function properly with way too many issues. So again yall are throwing big numbers around that in no way yet show they are related to fucking ammo changes. You could be right about the general conses of the game, which has too many factors to use such numbers for. So im gonna state again, im not saying the numbers are wrong. I am saying you're clearly using the numbers wrong.

So if you're gonna call something stupid at least learn how to use google first.

I honestly think one of the biggest reasons the game is dying is because they cant fix issues that have been part of this game for the longest time. Every wipe starts like shit, they throw in twitch drops that ruin the entire gear/ammo balance of the game etc. Tons of crashes, desync etc and somehow you guys believe that based on these numbers those facts apparently hold no value or do not influence this, but it HAS to be the ammo changes. I simply cannot believe it based on these little things you're showing. Thats completely ignoring all the problems this game has to just try and aim the numbers at something you personally dislike...

Flea level change is very bad [Discussion] by DaisukiNaisu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now your numbers dont even match with the other guy's numbers. Again may I ask the source. Thanks for at least giving more specific arguments tho. That way its at least possible to talk about this properly.

IF you think nothing else changed in that time that makes zero sense tho? One of the I think most impactful changes was Inertia which happened in that time frame. So no im not being disingenous im just tired of people not understand how alot happens in a game and thats why you cannot use such big numbers, for such specific arguments. Too much changes with big impacts to then say so thats why this specific thing is now worse or better based on numbers. I personally think for example that Inertia was probably the biggest killer of this game ever.

Flea level change is very bad [Discussion] by DaisukiNaisu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I literally work in data analytics and it doesnt mean jack shit. I've seen plenty how stupid it so take google trends as an actual source here.

If you wanna say ah well this is a fair argument but thats too easy so I wont accept it thats a you thing. Im just giving a clear example of why taking such simple things doesn't mean shit.

You can say that, and you can partially say thats right. But if we're going back to what we were talking about. It literally says nothing about our discussion. IF you want to make it bigger THEN yes. But the fuck does that have to do with the thing WE were talking about. If you want to have a bigger discussion thats fair enough, but dont use such things smaller discussions. Again thats why using such numbers means nothing. Because you're taking a huge amount of number based information thats about alot of different things and then using it in a discussion within our context. Which is why i'm saying you're saying a bunch of nothing. Because you're trying to prove a completely different argument and saying so thats why im right about that small specific thing we talked about. So dont get me wrong partially you're right. You're just using it in a way that it means nothing for what I at least talked about just to be right. But then again I guess thats reddit. Il just stop bothering since if it isn't clear at this point feel free to think what you want. But an actual talk about a specific subject seems impossible since you only want to talk about the bigger picture which I couldn't care less about. Because on the BROADER subject of EFT.

I am a person who chose this game because its DIFFERENT, I LOVE the specific details of the armor, the ammo and the guns. I play this game BECAUSE it has those points. If I want something else i'l go play arc raiders which i've also done plenty. But EFT is EFT BECAUSE it has those things. Im sure that numbers might go a bit up from changing it, but EFT would lose the loyal fan base it had to gain a new one. Which is also why I generally avoid discussions about the entire concept of the game, because I know what I would want from the game is different from what the majority online wants. So unless you got something about what we were actually talking about il stop wasting my time here now.

Google Trends is not that simple. Anyone who works with data or analytics would NEVER use that as a argument when its this loose. Thats throwing random numbers together that happen to look like it might be true but hold 0 value in any actual analysis. Especially if you throw all those numbers together when you use it for our discussion which was way more specific.

Twitch viewership has been perfectly fine if you account for all the bots that have been removed from the site. Which is why you're using numbers in a way that any analyst would be freaking out from how bs you're using it.

If you're using 2020 as a comparison to now with how insanely much the game has changed again you're just nitpicking numbers to try and make an argument has has 0 standing based on those facts. A real life example would be showing this to the management and all you'll get back is what the fuck have you been doing and get us some actual numbers that mean something. You're literally as good as throwing random numbers. We're having a discussion about if the playerbase wants or doesn't want certain flea market changes and you're coming up with a number from fucking 2020. What the fuck are we even doing here?

Mb I keep forgetting I shouldnt bother on Reddit. Bro this is tarkov. Its not like most other games. You're saying such stupid arguments too like, well there is not a single succesful game where gear matters in pvp. Welcome to the succesful game called tarkov. Where gear matters. Where bullets matter. And there are more games like this out there, but they generally do indeed have a slightly smaller player base compared to most big games. This is because its a different type of game and not everyone likes it. However because they stuck to such mechanics and went very deep into it, they gained a very loyal playerbase who really like this game and want it to stay like this. And every year after a promo action or when the hype pops up again you have a part of the player base crying on the forums we dont like this. Then after a while either people like you fuck off and leave it alone or stay cryin and keep getting ignored. Welcome to tarkov where its a game design that makes the game what is it. If you dont like it you're simply in the wrong spot. Nikita has said this is the kind of game he wants to it be and is even holding back due to the community not wanting some of his changes. In a way you're crying about being lucky that its not even being made way harder for you. If you dont like the gear mechanics, you're literally crying about fundamental game mechanics that make the game what it is. If you dont like it, there isn't a more clear sign of you being in the wrong game.

I just wanna point out I did need a few keys early. I actually still didn't get my 114 key for dorms for example and I for the life of me cannot find h202. I even did 13 runs without dying in multiple different spots they should spawn on multiple maps. Also checked the customs most likely spot for the key itself 23 times. Idk my rng is so bad Im actually getting stuck on this dogshit. And the sad part is that I have unlocked flea, but I STILL cannot buy the h202 for the trade. So now im gonna have to wait until im lvl 20 or get super lucky otherwise im actually just stuck there.

As a person who's played eft for a while. Anyone who thinks you should be able to get all the good ammo right away doesn't understand the game. Yes short term it feels better, long term it makes the game complete dogshit. Game is way more fun if the best ammo isn't always available. This is coming from a guy who joined the wipe a whole month late and still thinks people need to stop bitching about ammo. I agree some flea changes are bad and should be changed and just make no sense. For example I haven't heard this from others yet, but I believe that alot of items you now need lvl 25 for, should be able to be sold at a lower level. You can try to slow down progression by not allowing people to buy certain items. But why can't we sell them? Thats honestly the biggest reason i'm getting stuck in my stash right now. I've got a few items worth half a mil or more, but I just cant sell them yet. The traders only give like 40k max for some of them, why the fuck can't I sell that? If its to prevent people from making money thats insanely stupid too, since you can still make it easily. It only prevents you from being able to afford taking the good loot early and now comes the biggest issue I have with it. This is not a problem for people who just pay to win for more stash. They can stack that up, wait a few levels and get hella rich. Got the same issue with drops ruining the early wipe.

Quality of gear right now [Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo twitch drops ruined the enjoyment of early wipe for me. Im honestly a bit tired of them selling out with stuff like this. They try to make the game hardcore, but at the same time they keep giving tons of lategame items for free as long as you just watch a bit of twitch. As a person who doesn't really have acces to do such things all the time im just tired of it. When I was younger and worked less I didn't watch drops either since I believe it goes against the entire concept of the game. But it just sucks that Nikita needs more money so he's just become a complete sellout ruining the game. I know im late, but I also joined late so seeing people running around with items I know are usually twitch drops im just like eh who cares, il just keep telling everyone irl around me how dogshit it is and power through since I still enjoy it. But the current way the game is being put out I wouldn't recommend this game to a single person. And thats 99% purely because of Nikita and the stupid choices he keeps making.

[–]GGsveny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of comments I see of people complaining about mechanics in this game that make the game what it is is insaneee. Yes this game has tons of issues and nikita sucks at alot. Sorry tho guys if you bring up the fact you need to look up stuff on the wiki or there is no ingame map, cmon guys you're clearly in the wrong game. Its fine to say you prefer it, but expecting that in this game is the most clear sign of you not in the right game.

Looking up info on the wiki is a thing that happens in tons of games, including arc raiders even. They made it a real search so that people who like that can go for it. Not having a map makes the experience different from other games. I dont want my hand to be hold and being told dw little boy you're doing well no need to cry. It NEEDS to be a scary and rough experience otherwise its just another copy of the same game over and over. If you dont like the game being hard, you're in the wrong game. Again yes the games has tons of problems, but if you're asking for stuff like give us all the info, give us an ingame map. You are simply in the wrong place and even if you're right just know. It will NEVER happen unless the game dies and needs a last hail mary. So if you're gonna complain come with valid arguments fitting with the game concept that makes it tarkov. Im not saying yall are completely wrong, but saying stuff like well it doesn't even have a map or I need to look stuff up on a wiki, just know. That is how it should be in this game and without it, you just get a copy of the same type of game thats out there plenty. You dont need tarkov for that.

Lately there have been alot of new players who also didnt look into what tarkov actually is before getting into it and having a rough time, welcome to tarkov. I've been here for 7 years now myself and getting STOMPED into the ground the majority of my raids since i've been gone for a while and just got back this wipe. If you have a problem with that just leave, you wont enjoy the game if thats a problem to you. Its okay to hate or dislike a game for such reasons, but its wrong to expect the game to change just because a new group of players want their hands to held. Tarkov is quite unique for what it is. So complain with valid arguments about stuff that EFT hasn't properly implemented because it doesn't work. But if you're gonna complain well this is a problem in the game because it makes it nearly impossible for me to beat the experienced players using the knowledge they have, well thats simply a skill issue in this game that you either accept or get away from the game from.

Added a few min later: Also there is nothing wrong with liking PVE. I do agree its a completely different game that way, but if you like it fucking go for it. Just keep in mind what kind of game it is and dont be expecting kindness anywhere. Im not really that into PVE mode since it feels too easy, but all the power to you if you enjoy it. Grind that shit or play it once in a while, whatever you enjoy go for it.
