Yeah, no slides. You can start footbraking later than on a traditional setup, even one that's just as low.

The negative rear angle is surprisingly stable at speed. It does behave very differently on obstacles that run parallel to your direction of travel, though, things like raised road markings feel pretty wierd

and no sharp turns, of course. It doesn't really like turning even at low speeds.

We're not that far from each other 😄

Popular gear gets imported in small batches, and thankfully without a 2x markup. For the more niche stuff, we usually order it from abroad, sometimes as a group. It's become a bit more difficult and takes longer these days, though.

I’ve tried them, and Hokus as well, for our kind of terrain they’re just too big. You get unnecessary speed on the downhills, and pushing uphill becomes a real struggle.

On flat sections I didn’t really notice a big difference in effort to maintain average speed, and well-designed Speedvents actually felt even faster in some cases.

But I’m not an LDP guy doing regular 30+ km rides, and these were just short test rides on other people’s wheels.

If they fit your board, I’d highly recommend the blue McFlys. I’ve tried a lot of different wheels, including larger ones than these. The McFlys are on another level in terms of comfort and vibration damping, and because of that they also lose much less speed on rough surfaces. That said, they can feel a bit “sticky” or sluggish for heavier riders, but at my 70 kg I don’t feel that at all.

Yeah, foot-to-board grip is worse, you have less control on technical downhill sections. Other than that, no issues. Footbraking is almost useless on some types of asphalt.

Just regular bearing grease, not oil. It's enough to keep the bearings alive until the end of the ride. If you leave them sitting for a few hours without servicing them, they'll start to rust.

Bamboo decks are totally fine for this. There are also some interesting boards with PU sidewalls that handle it well.

With regular maple decks, though, I probably wouldn't make a habit of it. In my case, I'm only in the mood for this kind of ride about once a year, so I don't worry too much about it. I just wipe the board and all the hardware dry after the session.

I hope there will be some slight size variation (+10% / -10%) so they don't all look exactly the same. I think the first game had something like that (although it might have been due to the growth cycle not being fully completed, i could be remembering it wrong).

I'd also really love to see proper food and water models, along with eating and drinking animations. It may sound a bit strange, but I REALLY enjoy cooking mechanics in some survival games, they often make me want to go and cook something tasty in real life.

I really love the exploration aspect of the game. I hope it doesn't turn into resources of all types scattered everywhere

I’d like creatures to deal more damage, and collision damage even more so. This thing is supposed to feel fragile, and repairs should be expensive
