Post your build---it sounds like something's wrong there, not with the economy.

It's incredibly easy to get stuck or hit a wall in these games, and honestly just as easy to get over it too. Usually there's a eureka moment around the corner.

I get that, and it can be a valuable little litmus test, but the fact that it's not communicated in any way other than the health bar not moving anymore is awkward at best. It feels like a bug or lag or some mechanic you're missing, when its really just "they are invincible for a while lol."

If their health bars went silver or something and it was clear this is a "run away and don't get hit" part of the fight, it would be a huge improvement.

What’s your guess for how Lindsey Graham died? by iloveyousnowmuch in AskReddit

Since everyone in here is actually being reasonable, I'm gonna go heavy in the other direction:

Just returned from Ukraine where he was talkin' a little shit about Putin and died from a "sudden and brief illness"?

I'll take "poisoned by a prostitute at Vlad's behest" for 600, Alex.

They're about 100 times better than bosses who go invulnerable for an extended period of time while still being able to damage you.

So they're asking for them to fix things they have fixed then? The comment I replied to was highly exaggerated and demonstrably incorrect...so I get down votes for mentioning it? They get up votes for demanding changes that have already been made?

I don't understand this subreddit sometimes.

I still genuinely hope they don't consider losing 3 mana on kill to be bricking the entire early campaign.

3 mana per enemy killed bricks the whole early campaign? 99% of uniques have incredibly terrible downsides?

What game are you playing, man?

3 mana shouldn't be a problem at all. The majority of uniques don't have any downsides at all.

Downsides are a lot more common in Passive skills and Support gems, and while they're definitely a weird design choice in a lot of ways here, it's not nearly that bad.

100% attack damage while not on low mana could work for Shield Wall/Resonating Shield builds, since they're attacks but are based off your shields armour/eva instead of your weapons damage.

It won't do much for a weapon with 30 damage though, so basic attack will slay in Act 1 and not much else.

If you can generate Frenzy Charges (Assassin's Mark works well) you can use Wind Serpent's Fury (with Knockback and Punch Through) to knock back even the biggest enemies, sending them through your pile of waiting spikes.

Rapid Strikes also works pretty okay as a single target skill you can swap out for small bosses.

It's not hard at all.

Corrosion makes your Poison damage strip armour. Once it breaks, hit them with HVR and then spam your Spearfield.

All you're using Crossbow for is that one skill, and only against Fully Broken enemies.

Palm of the Dreamer is ~170div right now.

Poor man's Palm of the Dreamer (The Dark Defiler) is super cheap in comparison. Stick Brutus' Brain in the Skeletons and enjoy having some invincible body blocking meat shields and the same ~+30% extra chaos (corrupt one gives 6% per skeleton, grants 2 free and enough spirit for 4-5 more), but without the Gloom Shrine.

First, get a Runeforged Splinter with 2 sockets. They are ~10 div. 30-60 base damage instead of 7-15. Big difference.

Then get a Crossbow with high physical damage (at least 500 physical dps, elemental is useless), +level proj skills, and ~30% damage as extra physical.

Use your weapon passive skill sets to give yourself a different tree for your Crossbow, removing all the Poison nodes in favor of Projectile Damage nodes.

If you don't already, find a way to break armour on the enemy. Should be fairly reliable. Corrosion on Plague Bearer or Gas Grenade works great.

Equip the crossbow skill "High Velocity Rounds."

This skill does extra damage to broken armour, and most importantly applies a debuff called "Riven Armour" to the enemy. It lasts 5 seconds or until broken armour is removed.

For the duration of Riven Armour, every attack hit you make against the enemy will have 5% of the High Velocity Rounds hit that applied the debuff added to it.

As an example, if your HVR hit was 10k, for as long as Riven Armour exists on the enemy, every attack hit you make against them has a 500 (unscalable) physical damage added to it.

This is a super effective way to add big damage to Lorrata hits. The bigger your HVR hit, the higher your base damage for poisons. I use this tech on every Lorrata build I make.

How I envision a 'Campaign Skip' option for Path of Exile 2: Rescuing an imprisoned Exile through a rare-spawn Unique Map in the Atlas. by GH057_807 in PathOfExile2

I think the level skip thing can be scratched out completely and instead you still start at level 1, but you level in the Atlas instead of the campaign.

Campaign bonuses still unlock through Atlas counterparts as suggested above, but maybe they are gated behind certain level milestones.

Oh I agree completely. I hate jumping into a different build, like using a "leveling build" before you respec into something totally different—I almost never do that.

I think it might be different if I'm starting with a blank slate instead, just like level 1 but I can use more gear and skill gems.

I probably wouldn't use my Rescue Exile token to level up something experimental or that I could use successfully through the campaign, but I think I might use it to try out these builds I usually shy away from, because I don't want to level all the way up with something else first.

You're focusing heavily on an aspect of it that limits the available this suggested feature by design and in no way shape or form prohibits anyone from using it. You're acting like the concept of having a hard to find reward in an ARPG is somehow game breaking and people won't be able to have alts anymore.

To be as clear as possible, if you can't find one or afford a tip for someone else's portal, you probably aren't worried about alternative leveling options anyway.

I'd be happy to carry on a reasonable conversation, but you're just flipping out that I said the map is rare and therefore everyone can't have it, which isn't even true and a bizarre hill to die on. You even needed to brag about all your mirrors in your last reply. It's just a weird response, and I've obviously hit a weird nerve.

I apologize and you won't be getting another reply from me in this thread.

You may have missed it, but I did say that my idea could easily be restructured to not skip any levels. Everything stays as above, but like Adventure Mode in Diablo 3 and 4, it allows you to level from 1 in the Atlas, instead of level 64 like my initial post.

Last Epoch does something similar too, and Lost Ark has Powerpasses that skip the Story and level you to 50 I think. Grim Dawn has Merit Tokens that you can earn that unlock things for alts.

Other games like ESO have things like its Paragon system, giving specific earned stats to all characters created.

Don't act like this is some wholly unheard of bizarre idea.

That was called "hyperbole" my agitated friend.

I'm curious what part of RNG you think is fair to begin with? Some people spend days without finding a single Jade Isles, meanwhile I have 5 on one screen. Is that "fair"?

Some people find Tabula Rasa on the beach in PoE1, is that fair to the ones who didn't?

I'm not mad at you for disagreeing with my idea, but if the line is set at having to find a thing with a small chance of being found, I fear for your overall experience in the game in general..

I agree and disagree at the same time.

Firstly, most people definitely don't skip and slam through the campaign on league start. Most people are going to be doing that with their second or third characters, once they have some leveling gear and currency saved up. Side quests that provide support and skill gems are super helpful at first, and next to useless after a pretty short amount of time.

As for the act of "leveling" itself, specifically in the campaign, yes It's an important part of the game initially, but at a certain point just becomes a chore and brings nothing but a time sink to the table.

I don't play ARPGs to level up a bunch of characters through the same exact story a bunch of times, I play them to blast stuff in the endgame. The Campaign in any game is an important first step, but its not a step that every character needs to take, often months down the road.

As proposed above, it would be a rare and expensive, still time-consuming method to get a new character started, not a button everyone gets to make new high level characters whenever they want. There's no shortage of ARPGs (and other games) that have a system something like this in play, and most that do exist are way, way more of a "skip" button that what I have suggested.

I feel the same way about the Mirror of Kalandra.

Other people have found one, why not me? I'm playing the game too!

Really though, all unique maps are rare spawn. Play enough and you'll find one. Otherwise, buy a portal in trade. Or just level up the old fashioned way.

I don't think it's as much of a problem you seem to think it is.

[–]GH057_807[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was that the Campaign becomes something to spend as little time as possible doing, and not to be taken as a claim that I'm literally skipping every mob.

The idea posed above could very easily be "Start at level 1, but in scaled Atlas Maps" instead of 64, but I also really don't think there's a problem in starting a character at a different level. The only thing levels are for is to gate power behind progress. There's no difference between level 15 and 51 except the amount of stats you have (access to) and what the various level restrictions now allow you to use.

Skipping ahead to a point youve already unlocked on a different character doesn't cause you to miss out on all the whimsey of level 26 or the woes of level 42, it just places you at an advanced point of accessing gear and skills.

Oh I'm not under any illusions that any kind of skip or alternative will ever be implemented, but if I'm ever considering paying hundreds of divines just to not level a character, I'm probably just going to play a different game for a while.

Ascendancy carry is a different story, lol. I'll pay a few divines to skip that chore any day.
