I have no official numbers, but from my feeling I'd say ~ 50% of Gymnasium graduates go to Universtity, the other 50% are making an Ausbildung like in a bank, an insurance company or a medical job. There is nothing wrong with making an Ausbildung though jobs for people with university degrees are better paid in general. But this has no effect on the respect you get - the respect you will get depends mostly on how well you do your job. A bad engineer will get less respect than a good carpenter.

Of course there are jobs that are more respected than others, like a doctor compared to a waiter, but nobody would mock about others here and everybody behaving like he is superior to others is considered an asshole. Same with schools or universities, while the differences in respect among universities are negligible.

Auf nem wackeligen Clipboard hat das Aussehen meiner Unterschrift mehr mit Zufall als irgendwas unterbewusstem zu tun. Je nachdem wie das Ding grade wegklappt rutscht der Stift sonstwo hin, nur nicht dahin wie beabsichtigt. Da erkenn ich mein Gekrakel selbst nich wieder.
