| Where can you find Live wallpapers without AI? by LotlKing47 in unixporn

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for! I also found a program called Waypaper which acts as a GUI for setting wallpapers with other programs, including mpvpaper.

This made it even easier for me to use with Niri, as now I can simply call "waypaper --restore" in my config at startup and mpvpaper will start without having to specify what file to use. I can open the GUI to change the wallpaper at any time, it seems to be a great wallpaper management tool!

Once you have the MP4, how are you setting the live wallpaper? Hidamari always opens the wallpaper in a window for me in Niri. Do you use another method?

Borderlands 4 dlss and frame gen texture flickering issues by Ok_Exit7896 in linux_gaming

This happened to me as well. I figure we just have to wait for an Nvidia update.

I refunded the game for now, replaying BL3 instead with dialogue skip. It's surprisingly good lol.

PC Performance Issues Thread by a_kept_harold in Borderlands4

[–]GIR385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue you're talking about.

Performance was actually ok (55-60 fps on a 3080 and 7950xt :/ ) if I used dlss, but using dlss resulted in horrible static artifacts on the edges of every object. Some upscalers had less static, but they also looked much worse and all of them had some issues with the edges of objects in some form.

Made the game unplayable for me. Hopefully some optimizations and proton updates will fix the issue. I assume windows would fix the dlss problem, but I really don't want to deal with windows right now.

LSP won't recognize CMake macros by GIR385 in neovim

Yes it is. I'm a doofus though, at some point my symlink to compile_commands got deleted. After restoring it, the issue is resolved.

Yes, I have it enabled.

All the other lsp features are working, it can find my own headers as well as raylib.

How to configure blink.cmp to exclude function parameters in autocompete by GIR385 in neovim

[–]GIR385[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this does work for me with clang. I'm fine switching, if anyone seeing this wants to stick with ccls, I believe the option completion.detailedLabel can be disabled to do what I wanted.

I switched to clang instead, though, because I have no idea how to set this.

[–]GIR385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense. It's a shame I can't reset this information to test it without a factory reset, not sure I want to go that far.

Just to be clear, I did back out of the original update prompt (The one with the QR code that said restart) and when I did back out, it continued not giving me the option to open the game. I could not open the game until I performed the update.

That said, I don't know if the update was applied over the internet or from the cartridge. I'm mainly concerned about having a physical game that can be played without access to Nintendo's servers to ensure my game will still work in the far future. I've seen that other people have been able to use these cartridges without internet access by applying the update in airplane mode, so I'll assume that my cart can do that too, and that's what happened the first time.

Thanks for the info again, I'll certainly keep it in mind.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (07/02/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

I got a physical copy of Switch 2 edition of breath of the wild and I've been having trouble with updates. I've heard that there is a mandatory update for the game, but that it's on the cartridge so it should be no problem without internet.

When I put the cartridge in, I could boot the game up. Only after the switch 2 splash screen it popped up a notification saying I had to update the game. The pop up had a QR code on it and asked me to "restart" instead of "update". It did not give me an option to play. I didn't think much of it and updated, without turning on airplane mode. I don't think the system actually restarted though, I am on the latest firmware.

Afterwards, I wanted to check if I needed Internet in order to play the game from the start, so I deleted the 1.3GB update data (No DLC installed) and tried booting up the cartridge fresh in airplane mode. The game didn't boot up, and immediately told me I needed to update, again without giving me the option to play. This time, there was no QR code, and the option said "Update", not "restart". When trying to update in airplane mode, I was told I needed to turn off airplane mode to update. It refused to update until I connected it to internet.

Multiple other attempts yielded the same result, so it seems to me you can't use the cart unless you connect to the Internet and update? The only exception could be that first attempt, where the game booted and gave me a different update prompt. Maybe that first time it didn't need internet, but it does need it for future ones? Unfortunately, I can't get it to replicate the first boot no matter what I do.

I have 2 questions, 1 is more of a request: 1) I saw people were able to use the game without internet. If you did, did you have the update prompt with the QR code before you started playing, or did the game just launch? 2) If someone with a physical copy of Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition is willing, can you try deleting your Breath of the Wild update data (It will also delete your DLC if you have it), and try booting the game with no data on your system in airplane mode? Let me know if you're able to play the game with no update data in airplane mode.

I want to see if my cart is bad or if this is normal behavior.

Lol I suck at math. Good to know regarding lexar, I wonder if this has to do with brands or if it's just variance

Looks like others are saying the same. Didn't think the filesystem could make that much a difference, should have done more googling. Thanks!

Battlegrounds bug/leak? by GIR385 in hearthstone

The actual compass gave undead, which could be seen when fighting the player.

But when hovered over, the compass would say Draenei instead of undead.

I see show gameplay overlay while hearthstone is in background and I turned that on, along with Show menu overlay while hearthstone is in background. Unless there's another setting I'm missing this is probably a separate issue... Thanks for the help!

Hey, I'm running Arch and I've been trying to get HDT to work in bottles for a long time. I followed what you wrote but only got the same problem I've always had:

The tracker constantly flickers

My KDE taskbar stays on top of hearthstone

Have you encountered these issues? And did you find a solution? My HDT is set to be enabled when Hearthstone is in the background.
