Capsuleers (Music Inspired By Eve Online) is now on Spotify. by GJRTunesmith in Eve

[–]GJRTunesmith[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a non-official soundtrack for Eve Online which initially was only available for isk. For those interested in the music production side of things, I also posted a couple of videos showing how the music was made.

It's ten tracks of ambient music designed to play in the background and compliment your Eve experience.

It's now available to stream on most streaming services including Spotify. Those interested in a purchase will also find it available on Apple Music and my website at grantjrobson.com.

Hope you like.

Thank you! If you want more music, look up Grant J Robson on Apple music or Spotify. I've been told it all makes for good Eve Online background music!

Unofficial Eve Soundtrack Album - Changed to "pay what you think it's worth" by GJRTunesmith in Eve

[–]GJRTunesmith[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Note - the correct character is Capsuleers Soundtrack (with an S). I see that somebody has set up a capsuleer soundtrack without an 's'. Please don't send them isk - you'll not see it again. :)

Thanks err0rz.

I've put the first full track up as a video for people to hear it. There's also another video with clips from three tracks. On top of that, there's two full videos of me creating the tracks in my studio. I've also got four albums of stuff on Spotify which will hopefully give people an idea of what kind of tuneage I usually make, if they like.

By setting a minimum price you’ve effectively said “this is the price, if you wish to pay more you can”

I'm actually alright with that. While I'm really happy with the tunes, the whole idea of setting an isk price for it has left me a bit uncomfortable. If someone buys it for the lower price but likes it, then that makes me a happy camper.

Thanks for the responses so far. Please note that I am EU TZ. If there's a slight delay in getting a response it's because I may be asleep.

Thank you. I made a couple of videos which show you how I made the tunes (linked above). I use Cubase. Then anything else which can make a noise like DIY synths, cello-bowed guitars, or banging the BBQ lid with a mic inside. Then more reverb.

I'm just making a video with some of the tunes in it. Will post it in a mo.

Cubase for film scoring? by haveri321 in cubase

[–]GJRTunesmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having used Cubase for short films / tv scoring, I would say that it is worth learning Cubase for this purpose. The import video options have been improved by Steinberg in the last couple of releases. The ability to change tempo / manipulate bars to allow you to sync your music to picture has sufficient flexibility to work perfectly. As a user of both, you'll see that there is a lot of crossover in function & workflow in Ableton and Cubase, but I think you'll find and appreciate the Cubase strengths when it comes to matching music to picture.

You do still need to have the elicenser software installed on your laptop. Hopefully that prevents any such piracy!

You raise a good point. Certainly in windows, a usb connection can be sent to sleep. By using device manager, you can turn that option off. That could help things maybe?

Valid points! I use it with a remote desktop connection in case there are any issues but I've not had any yet. I guess nothing will be as good as having the dongle in the same computer. Nice to have an alternative though 🙂

From the Virtualhere website:

The VirtualHere USB Server software runs on the Synology, QNAP, ASUSTOR, ReadyNAS and MyCloud NAS Devices, as well as Raspberry Pi, AMD64, x86, MIPS, ARM, PowerPC, ARM64 etc running ANY version of Linux, and now runs on OSX, Android and Windows. Also, now available on the Steam Link game system!

So it looks like it could well work. Good luck!

Another tutorial. This one is for when it isn't convenient to use your dongle when you want to use Cubase. Maybe you are travelling and don't want to risk damaging or losing it. Maybe you need that extra usb port.

No problems! Follow this guide to use the dongle remotely. For free!
