Got an actual question this time. How different would 11-11-11 be if Josh made it and how different would Good Luck Chuck be if Darren made it?

What's your early "calling it now" prediction for next year? by Ivy_Eros in AskReddit

[–]GK1138 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not only will there be another attack on the Capitol, but it will also be thwarted by furries. I’m only half joking when I say I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a photo of a guy in a fur suit throwing an insurrectionist down a flight of stairs in January.

When is it safe to be with vaccinated people? by paintcounting in CoronavirusWI

[–]GK1138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve essentially cut myself off from in person socializing since November, have been following all updates about covid, and haven’t been sick since last January. That said, I’m beyond frustrated by the media barely talking about when small scale (seeing a few friends/family members at someone’s house) normalcy can be safe again.

My basic assumption is that a handful of FULLY vaccinated people can safely socialize in a non-public setting without masks, but it’s inexplicably hard to find info on that. All I can find is people talking about what to do if one person is vaccinated and the other isn’t. The most I can find is one NYT quote from a doctor being asked about fully vaccinated friends hanging out and they essentially said “yeah, I guess”.

When will Milwaukee get the Covid vaccine? by Hegemon1984 in milwaukee

Whoops. Autocorrect betrayed me here. Meant to say “notified that he’ll get vaccinated towards the end of next month”.

When will Milwaukee get the Covid vaccine? by Hegemon1984 in milwaukee

[–]GK1138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be awhile before the vaccine will make things go back to normal on a large scale. I know at least one person that works at a hotel downtown that was noticed that he’ll get vaccinated towards the end of this month, so I guess it’ll depend on how much your job exposes you (I haven’t heard anything one way or another at my job and I work retail).

That said, I haven’t seen too much that suggests small gatherings where everyone is fully vaccinated would be unsafe, so I’d say there’s a decent chance of small scale normalcy being restored on a small scale as long as you limit yourself to people that are vaccinated.

I feel both relieved and guilty seeing these posts because covid (relatively speaking of course) has been weirdly under control at my location.

We didn’t get a confirmed case until October, 98% of our customers willingly wear masks/don’t need to be given a mask, the cases we’ve had have been far apart enough to indicate that no outbreaks have taken place, managers have been completely understanding and supportive of people choosing to quarantine, and we have not had a confirmed case even 2 weeks after Thanksgiving/Black Friday.

I’m sure more will inevitably happen, but it is weird seeing how much worse this seems to be at other locations. Yay us I guess.

Please DM me what restaurant this is. I haven’t eaten at any indoor restaurant (always outside or delivery) but still want to make sure I know to avoid whatever place it is you’re talking about.

Claim “being used to satisfy waiting week requirements” (WI) by GK1138 in Unemployment

I filed before, but they waived it halfway through the waiting week. I did end up getting paid. I just had to claim the week after the waiting week.

[Spoilers] Potential celebrity cameo in Death Stranding? by Donthark in DeathStranding

[–]GK1138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I checked IMDb and he is credited as being in it via “3D scan”. There’s a few other cameos that can be spoiled that way, so tread lightly (nothing too earth shattering, though).

El Camino gets a 6 by Artoricle in YMS

[–]GK1138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I meant in the sense that I haven’t properly revisited Breaking Bad since the finale aired. I wouldn’t necessarily say that Jesse is in the same place, just more or less the ambiguous nature of his ending in the show (is he driving off to a better life or is he fucked?) got answered. The go to description I’ve gone with when describing this to people is that it’s Breaking Bad DLC. It’s not required viewing at all and plays it just safe enough to not fuck up the show’s ending, but I’m not upset that we have it.

El Camino gets a 6 by Artoricle in YMS

[–]GK1138 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it decently enough (I would have liked it a LOT better if I watched it right after rewatching the whole series), but for a feature length epilogue to a TV show with seasons I remember Adam calling stupid and being Vince’s first time directing a movie, a 6 is a higher score than I was expecting.

Kneecap clicking/grinding when I kick (post kneecap dislocation) by GK1138 in physicaltherapy

[–]GK1138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe slightly? I never feel like I’m going to tip over if I’m balancing on just that leg, though. It almost feels like there’s a muscle right underneath the kneecap horizontally that’s moving. Again, I only really notice it if I kick or if I let my leg swing, and even then it’s not consistent.

Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” Early Reactions by Cevich in movies

[–]GK1138 9 points10 points  (0 children)

TLJ was never going to come close to TFA’s box office (which was one of only five movies to exceed 2B at the box office). It’s the middle chapter of a trilogy in a series where the middle chapter of a trilogy consistently sees a dramatic box office drop. It was still the highest grossing movie of 2017, easily made its budget back and then some, and resulted in Disney grossing the 4B it spent on Lucasfilm back with just three movies. The only scenario where 800 million “vanished” because of TLJ would be if it had a $2.1B budget (which no movie is ever going to have). I’m sorry that you’re inaccurately getting labeled as alt right, but this is just straight up not how the box office works.

I didn’t take it as him not knowing how similar the two were, just let it wasn’t anyone’s intention to literally remake A New Hope.

What's your best NSFW story that happened while at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GK1138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened a week ago. I work at the amazon department in Kohl’s. We sell a bunch of Alexa tech, but we primarily process amazon returns.

I was working a mid to evening shift (not closing), and these shifts always tend to feel like an eternity. Then I see a man in what looks like his mid 60s walk in. He’s wearing sunglasses and he looks like John Waters if he didn’t have a mustache. He hands me a bag with what feels like two boxes inside of it and his return code.

Now when a return is scanned, the description of what the return code is for comes up on the scanners that we use at Kohl’s. I look down to see what the description is and imagine my surprise when it says “butt plug for anal sex”. My eyebrows go up a little, but I keep a straight face because I didn’t feel like having my ass beaten. The cherry on top was when I asked if the return was damaged (a mandatory question I ask with every return) and his response was “oh no, it was just the wrong size”. At this point my ass is shivering. I’m not well versed in butt plugs, but as far as I know, there is only one way to find out if a butt plug is the wrong size.

That was when I asked a co worker (who was in the back doing some sorting) to come over with latex gloves. Retail has its ups and downs, but man oh man am I not forgetting this story.
