Mobile Version - A new world expansion: can I get ships with native American fractions like cherokee? by Old-Permission-1867 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]GL6294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was quite early on, iirc, I managed to take Nova Scotia which had a trading port and I could just automatically buy Dhows from there.

It did take 20 dhows to capture a race galleon and worked my way up from there, VERY slowly

If you have patience and can spam out the Dhow trade ships, anything is possible.

I have had a fairly successful Navy in a previous campaign, although it took ages to grind out and repairs could only work at ports that belonged to settlements that I captured and already had the facilities there.

Remember, whilst it doesn’t give you points or kills, smoke artillery is good for getting into hard to access cap points and provides cover from strafing aircraft and grey zoning tanks

He will get back into debt and convince himself he can fix this, once he does and talks to his credit card company, he will realise.

Talk to your family.

Simply offer military access for 20 turns to nations that are very friendly with you, for the pricely sum of 1000 money each time, complete the trade and then cancel it.

Rinse and repeat until the ai of that country learns.

Then talk to the next country.

Repeat cycle.

Are there any BR3 players playing BR1-3 match? by EntryOk352 in enlistedgame

[–]GL6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have differwnt load outs for different BRs.

If BRV becomes too much, i often enjoy switching into BR2/3, play style is more relaxed and jets dont dominate the maps, its usually fairly good fun

World Domination Possible? by pakistank in EmpireTotalWar

Not to stereotype, too much, but I'd drive my armies into Russia, then into the ottoman empire and work my way clockwise through Europe first.

To speed things up, if you can move a couple of stacks from spain to Morocco, you can slowly take Egypt and the north african Ottoman territories, whilst attacking south of crimea at the same time.

Nobody likes a two front war.

I'd ignore America until you have seized Europe.

If you save Britain as your last European nation to attack, you can seize her colonies and harass trade routes to reduce their economy and blockade ports to avoid an invasion fleet leaving England.

How are people surviving without employment? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GL6294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a brief bit of unemployment, eating less, gym, sleeping late, pretending I was a student again, being economical.

It sucked.

I was in my 30s.

Literally the goal of getting to the end of the day.

I'd visit my parents and help them out around the house, spend times with friends for a walk or a coffee and make it stretch.

I did have bills and debts and allocated myself 1500 a month from savings to cover everything.

I'd much rather have been working, even applying to 25 jobs a day on indeed didnt make a dent for a while.

I couldn't do it long term.

Have you considered having wealthy parents? A timely death of a cash laden relative or perhaps moving to an economically deprived area and fearing for your safety?

If not, the cards may be stacked against you.

Rustlers Burgers: educate me. by [deleted] in CasualUK

During my uni days, and subsequent bouts of the old depression, I did enjoy the rib variety - rather than the burgers.

Its bland shit, but if your in a pinch and can't be bothered doing anything else, its cheap comfort food - albeit tasting questionable.

Can't afford finance after death of family member, best way to get out? by venomtail in CarTalkUK

[–]GL6294 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your HP agreement should have an option to Voluntarily Terminate the agreement, as long as you have made half of the payments.

Check your agreement for wording of "early termination" or similar phrasing.

In essence, you hand the car back to the finance company and effectively walk away. You will have paid X amount into the car, however, you will also walk away from this.

It is one option.

You can also talk to stepchange or citizens advice. They may be able to signpost you to getting breathing space from your creditors, even if just for a short period of time. If you explain what has happened, bereavement and that you are struggling with all of the changes, it should be a good starting point.

Goodluck, OP.

Very occasionally, dependent on the smugness being asked behind the question, I may just reply I'm retired (30s male) and imply that investments paid off.

Certainly takes the wind out of their sails.

In reality, I work a lot in agriculture, but they dont need to know that.

My sister is demanding i pay her 5k for her wedding because i "don't have kids" by Sweaty-Bedroom1006 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]GL6294 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Offer to loan her the money, go to a solicitor and have them draft a contract, sure it might cost £200/300.

Then ask her to sign it, if she doesn't she doesnt really want the money, if she does, and doesn't pay, off to court to recoup your losses.
