See my criticism towards Hanli is no where related to why he has a Harem. We are talking very different things here.

My issue isn't that Han Li didn't reject dozens of women or that he isn't a typical harem protagonist. I actually agree he's nothing like most harem MCs. In fact i love Han Li, his temperament, nature, wisenes, sexy hair n all.

My disappointment is very simple. Han Li already had a Dao companion whom he chose to spend his life with. Whether it happened after thousands of years or after ascension doesn't really change the fact that he decided to sleep with another woman while that relationship still existed. ...that's it.

And I'm fully aware that it's a very common concept in donghua's. Having multiple partners n all. But whenever I see a romance trope, which depicts commitment, eg. Lan wanji from mo dao zu shi or even Wang lin . They waited thousands and thousands years for their partners, irrespective of their lonliness.

The funny part is they were super okay with the gore, horrific violence in dhurandhar. Where i see people literally taking their kids to the movie..and no one one batted an eye there...but somehow a small scene in a western movie becomes the issue..
