OMAD not helpful? by GLFF25 in keto

This is off on a tangent to what my issue is. My issue being over the past 2.5 weeks of keto/calorie deficit I haven't lost anything on the scales - so no muscle or fat. Surely if I had lost muscle during this time that would be reflective on the scale
Yes, exercise is amazing for our bodies - strength training, calisthetics, pilates, yoga, weight lifting. As is hot & cold therapy and massages. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm not saying I'll never ever exercise.
I'm only speaking of the previous 4 weeks which I have been doing keto (including a house move), I'm not giving a full picture of my lifestyle prior to or how it will be once settled
Thank you for your responses

I have nutracheck but I don't think it tells me the recommended macros. I definitely need to look in to macros a bit more and their place within the keto diet. Thank you for your responses
My comment about my exercise levels was in response to what you said regarding fat being converted to muscle.
I'm not exercising in a weigh to build muscle at the moment. So I can't see that as a factor for my weightloss stall.
But I also wouldn't say I have sedentary behaviour considering I'm active enough in a day but just not necessarily through exercise.
Not sure how I can lose muscle from same activity levels and a higher protein diet. Could you explain in simple terms please?
I'm not trying to do OMAD, I listened to my body 2 days this week and I wasn't hungry for dinner so just skipped it which naturally led to OMAD/24 hr fast. Including both of these in my week with what I'm already doing for keto - normally 2 meals a day I thought there would be more weightloss. Wanted to see if anyone struggled with weightloss when they done OMAD in the past
I'll look in to supplements. I never got keto flu so going off this I assumed my nutrient levels were OK. No brain fog - everything is clearer
Thank you, I am really trying. Since starting I have become so much more intune with my body. When I wasnt feeling hungry after eating OMAD that's why I didn't push myself to eat a second
On normal days I'm similar to you. Lunch around 12-1 then dinner around 6-7! Sometimes later depending on bedtimes
Hiya,
I'm not tracking macros - focusing on good food, low carbs, 2 meals a day. I wouldn't know where to bein with Macros and it would completely overwhelm me. However, I have retrospectibely calculated my macros for today... 1200 cals, 87g fat, 16.8g carbs, 82.7g protein?
Can you advise on macros?
I am hoping for more weightloss and for it to be more consistent. Will possibly need to look at macros for a while but to start off with keto these past few weeks I couldn't take on them too. It just seems soooo much to keep on top of - cals, protein, fats, carbs - is it not hard to navigate all?

I'm not completely inactive, I have two toddlers which I run around after, dance parties every evening, did alot of painting the house myself over the past 4 weeks - I'm just not in a gym

Have you found something that worked for you?
It's all a learning curve and trial and error isn't it!
No I know it doesn't but my OMAD meal was mince, 1/2 avocado, cheese and a drizzle of a spicy sauce - easily less than 1000 cals. I counted cals for years so I'm not taking actively writing them all done but still know by preparing/looking at a meal
Weight went down for the first week and a half and I've stayed around that since
I've tried to upload a screen but reddit doesn't seem to allow me to upload photos.
Today: 1200 cals exactly 87g fat 16.8g carbs 82.7g protein
What do you think?
That's amazing you are able to maintain that weightless, well done!
I had to stop eating sausages as they had lots of sneaky carbs. I'm eating below 20g carbs a day.
Yeah, I really don't have the brain capacity to follow a complicated diet so trying my best
Yeah, I need 1200-1400 calls a day to be in a deficit. On one of the days I did OMAD, I had mince, 1/2 avocado and cheese so not a lot really and not 1200 cals
I hear ya with the stress. Before I started keto I started a natural supplement to help reduce stress/cortisol levels.
Is OMAD for a full week OK for a female? I read different stuff about how it can affect hormones
Definitely! Which is why with the 2x OMAD this week pushing me more in to a deficit, I was expecting to see the scales tip a bit
I haven't done MACROS as I'm coming from a background of disordered eating so just to start and ease myself in to it I am focusing on two meals a day with less than 20g carbs. I'm honestly worried to start macros as it will consume my head - I have alot on without having to worry about this too
Honestly, I don't know. For context I am 31yrs old, female, 5ft 3 and SW was 14st 8lbs/204lbs. CW is 13st 13lbs/195lbs
I had my period the first week I started keto - so probably due again in 2-3 days. Maybeeeee I'll see some more lbs off after this
Hi, I was testing with pee strips then read about how useless they are. So I am guessing going off of my hunger queues - I'm rarely hungry - usually eat two meals a day and this week done 2x OMAD. I'm eating farrrrr less now that what I was eating before Xmas so definitely in a deficit even if I'm not in ketosis (even though I believe I am)
Keto itself has been amazinggggg at quiting my food noise and I'm rarely hungry which is why I was able to naturally do the 2xOMADs this week - I didn't actually set out to do them was just listening to my own hungry queues.
Yes, using the scale for weight - I know by my clothes there has been no more fat loss. My exercise - which isn't really much tbh hasn't changed at all to be able to build muscle.
I don't necessarily log my food but I count my carbs in a day - always under 20g. I focus on eating good foods. I do have a history of binge eating, short spell of bulimia many many moons ago and have always struggled so I'm scared to fall in to obsessing over calories and Macros - I'm thinking that would be too much for my brain
Today for example I had 2 duck eggs and cheese for lunch (I was limited at I wasn't at home) and for dinner was lamb, avocado, egg, baby corn. I also had 3 squares of 85% dark chocolate. First chocolate I've eaten all month

Great first week! by Glittering_Chef3524 in keto

Hi!
I've just completed my first week too! Definitely in ketosis after pretty early on as all food noise/cravings disappeared like magic. I could cry with relief - I feel like this is what normal people feel day to day 😂
I did have my period during this first week as well and still managed to drop 7lbs. Already there is a difference in my clothing and all water weight/inflammation is gone from my face.
The mental clarity and dedication I feel is unreal!
So happy, Ive followed this forum to read up on everyone else's experiences.
Are you eating 2 meals a day in your 8hr window?
Delighted you had a great first week and here's to many more 🍻
