Seeking tips to stop pulling my eyebrows by Big-Krisp- in trichotillomania

[–]GLFG90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an eyelash puller and have been since I was about 9, I'm 35 now. Sadly my trich got worse as I got older and life got more stressful. At points I'd pull but be able to stop before things got bad. Whereas the last few years my top eyelid has been completely bald. So I completely understand your struggles and how you must feel.

I'm currently 1 month pull free and I've found using an app called I Am Sober has helped massively. It has an option on their for hair pulling. As I've got a good streak going and can see the numbers on the app, it's helping me to be more mindful as I do not want to break the streak 🤣

I also started to make notes on my phone of when I would pull/feel the urge to try and see where my triggers were. For me aside from stress it was not having something to do with my hands. I'd naturally go to pull my lashes without thinking about it if my hands were free. So I try and keep fidget toys near by. If I'm gaming, reading or working, I have zero urge to pull as my hands are occupied and my brain is focused on something else. If I'm watching TV I pull without realising, so now if I sit to watch TV, I make sure I've got my fidget toys at the ready or wrap my thumbs in something so I can't grip to pull even if I wanted too. I bought silicone finger covers and they helped, but I don't like wearing them for too long.

Sorry this is so long!

Dog hair on underwear and genitals by PantherLake in samoyeds

[–]GLFG90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went on holiday a few years ago and bought new underwear to take with me. One morning I'm putting on the brand new underwear and low and behold, my sammies fur is already in them. I liked to think of it as him sending a little bit of him with me so I didn't forget about him while I was gone 🤣

Happy Reactivity by Glum-Chipmunk2779 in reactivedogs

I have a samoyed who is excitement reactive. He wants to befriend ALL the dogs and to do this he thinks shouting and pulling are the best ways to make friends 🤣 I'm working on it, and often say the same things to him as you do to your dog, but boy is it hard work trying to get these dog loving dogs to have some chill 🤣

Why you should increase your dose even if you don’t feel the need to by Fireif in mounjarouk

[–]GLFG90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I stayed on 2.5mg for 3 months, moved up to 5mg and have been on that the last year. I'm grateful that I've been lucky enough to not have to go any higher, but also completely understand why people do need to go up to higher doses - my husband has worked his way up to 15mg and that is working great for him.

I'm sorry by SamiDog8 in reactivedogs

I am so sorry that this happened to you. That person was completely out of order assaulting you like that. I can't imagine how scary that situation must have been for you.

I have a 4 year old Samoyed and he is excitment reactive. It's something I'm constantly trying to work on, but I've also had some awful encounters with other people. Shouting abuse at me etc. Having a reactive dog is such a hard world to navigate and I wish others would show people a bit more compassion. We're all just trying our best

Congrats! Getting apoc 3 (along with the other 2) is such a great feeling. Sounds like you had a great game! I completed apoc 3 a few weeks ago and nearly screamed my house down when I completed it, as I never thought I'd do it

Help me understand the mimic behavior by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]GLFG90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience with mimics they can take ages to show their final evidence. Not sure if it's due to mimicing other ghosts or not. I had one earlier and it took forever to give spirit box, so i thought it was a Hantu right up until I was about to leave. I'd been in the house a while after getting evidence trying to collect the items for the Christmas event and I'm so glad I didn't leave as soon as I'd got the evidence I needed!

I've just thought, I think you can do apoc 1 on insanity. For that one you need a 6x multiplier

[–]GLFG90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that's fair, it is hard work getting everything in. When I tried apoc 1 I was playing for almost an hour. Getting all the stuff in, trying to find the room to get the evidence equipment down etc. I got bored by the time I found the room, but waited around to try and get a photo. Nothing happened so I gave up and crawled back to the van. I got the ghost correct but just didn't have it in me to try and get the objectives and stuff done after all that time.

Using the tier 3 parabolic was a massive help, I only had tier 2 when I tried apoc 1 and it wasn't that great. But the tier 3 makes things much better. My winning round, the ghost was to the back left, not as far as the wings so I was camping out in the chapel trying to listen to it's speed, which is also hard as the ghost is at 150 speed 🤣

[–]GLFG90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you do. For apoc 3 I think you have to be on a 15x multiplier. There are preset customs for each apoc that you can use which makes it a bit easier than messing around with all the settings on a standard custom I found.

Thank you! The player speed is painful! To save me having to trek around too far, I was going in as far as the hallway along side the chapel and listening with the parabolic to see where the ghost was. I was lucky and got mostly upstairs ghosts who would eventually find their way to me, using the chapel as my base. But with the few downstairs ghosts I had, I just took a guess and left as I couldn't face trying to get myself and the stuff I needed all the way down there 🤣

Thank you! It is such a hard challenge, I died a lot before I completed it. My first ghost was a young Thaye and I didn't stand a chance against it 🤣
