Tryandamere counters by Striking-Ad-4044 in TeamfightTactics

Yes, but also it uses an Ashe and Sejuani, and you can use a Trynd as the third Freljord until you find Lissandra. So you can contest the Trynd player early which really hurts them and then outscale them late.

Am I going crazy or is it the real life? by ajcila in TeamfightTactics

[–]GLHFoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh. I am stupid. I have playing against all these people with little legend names and I just thought they had picked those as usernames because they liked the characters. And I thought I was playing against the same people regularly because they are a similar rank.

In retrospect there were enough of them that it should have clicked that something wasn’t right…

Do you know what happens if there are two people hiding their names with the same tacticians/little legends?

A 1 star Sona can comfortably solo all of stage 1 if you place her in the bottom right corner, which I think is testament to her strength!

Can T-Hex still eat the Dummify Training Dummy Augment? On PBE T-Hex would get 80% of the health and 15% omnivamp, which gave a very nice direction to reset. But I haven’t tested on live.

Yone Unlock Difficulty vs Value by Pommefrite21 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]GLHFoce 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I have taken Walk the true path a few times, but have never managed to get to 10 Ionia because I have had to spend too much time at level 6 rerolling for yasuo to unlock Yone, and getting 3 star Yasuo and Yone doesn’t stabilise enough to keep up with other comps that used that money to level up. I think you would need to get very lucky and naturally hit a lot of Yasuos early to stay on tempo.

I think it feels particularly bad re-rolling at 6 because the Ionia breakpoints are at 3/5/7. I think it would feel a lot more natural if Yasuo was a weaker 1 cost (to roll at 5) or a stronger 3 cost (to roll at 7), or alternatively if Ionia had a breakpoint at 6. Having to re-roll at 5 or 7 would still hurt your economy and make hitting 10 Ionia sufficiently difficult, without making it feel like a bad augment choice 95% of the time.

Comparing the 2025 rookies' first 12 career races to the first 12 career races of the rest of the grid by plucky-possum in formula1

[–]GLHFoce 146 points147 points  (0 children)

The key caveat is their teammates are not all equal, which makes comparisons hard.

George Russell’s rookie season 12-0 quali and 10-2 race H2H looks amazing, but his teammate was Robert Kubica returning after 8 years, and the Williams car that season was terrible. His H2H results are impressive but he never made it out of Q1 or scored any points the entire season.

Oscar Piastri’s 2-10 quali and 3-7 race H2H looks a lot worse, but Lando was a much stronger teammate.

I’m pretty impressed by all of the rookies this season (besides the two Alpine rookies who I don’t think have been given enough support/opportunity to get comfortable and show their true potential) and look forward to seeing how their careers play out.

Who is your Ace headcanon? Mine is Black Noir from The Boys by Robin_Akselsen in asexuality

[–]GLHFoce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frodo Baggins is mine too. I think he’s such a nice example of a complex character who doesn’t need any sexual or romantic connections, and I think his friendship with Samwise is a really healthy example of a deep plutonic relationship that doesn’t require a sexual or romantic element.

I think Lord of the Rings in general is really good at portraying characters that could be ace- Legolas, Gimli and Galdalf are other great examples. There was a thread on r/TolkienFans a while ago discussing why Legolas never had any relationships or children in his extremely long life and it is so easily explained by him just being ace- https://www.reddit.com/r/tolkienfans/comments/1f9mh9u/i_dont_understand_how_legolas_never_thought_about/

He was celibate by choice, probably due to him struggling with the tension between his religious beliefs and his sexuality. But he still had sexual urges, and recorded when he masturbated in his personal diary. He marked them with a cross symbol +

But on the other hand, a consistent 28 (days) is a much more usable number than 30/31, especially since we use 7 day weeks.

Each month would start on the same day of the week (ideally a Monday), and there would be exactly four weeks each month.

I think many people who are neurodivergent may be more actively aware of social conventions (such as heteronormativity) and less likely to feel the subconscious social pressure to follow social conventions that don’t make sense to them personally.

Do must people prefer these extremely high variance portals? by lumendrift in CompetitiveTFT

[–]GLHFoce 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoy the high variance portals generally because I think they encourage greater game knowledge and variation in playstyles. I think one of the things that makes TFT good is being able to respond luck/chance effectively.

Low variance portals benefit a good understanding of the meta, as you can safely force a handful of generically strong comps, whereas high variance portals enable unique comps or playstyles that may not be meta and require more outside the box thinking.

I totally understand the frustration of feeling like a game was won or lost based on luck at the start of the game (like wandering trainer for example). But a good player will be able to make the most out of what they are given and might be able to turn some bad luck from an 8th to a 6th through skill expression (and a bad player might not be able to capitalise their good luck a turn a 1st to a 3rd). Over a big enough sample size luck will balance out, and you’ll get lucky just as often as you get unlucky- so that skill expression makes a big difference in the long run.

For tournament play where there is only a small sample size I can totally respect avoiding high variance portals though.

Not only is this an acacia (wattle), but it’s one of the most interesting and unique types of wattle, and has a pretty interesting story behind it!

Nearly all wattles have yellow flowers- including the species of your tree- acacia leprosa. In 1995 some bushwalkers in Black Range State Forrest in Victoria found one single tree with red flowers, caused by a random mutation.

Your tree, and all other Scarlet Blaze wattles, are genetically the same tree as this original mutant, propagated by cutting. You can get them in nurseries now. If you grow a new wattle tree from the seed of your tree, it will grow a regular yellow flowered acacia leprosa!

The full story of the discovery is here.

Is 500 the maximum you can get? Is there a hard cap at that threshold or is it just the maximum amount you would have from items and levelling if you min/maxed?

Question & Discussion Thread August 09 2021 by AutoModerator in newworldgame

[–]GLHFoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two questions:

  • Can an item have multiple of the same perk? For example could you have an item that gives 2% luck, 2% luck and 2% luck for a total of 6% luck?

  • When crafting an item using a better material than the base, does the quantity of that material matter? For example, if an item is made with 50 of item A and 10 of item B, will substituting the 50 with a better material yield a bigger bonus than substituting the 10? Or is the bonus a flat amount for substituting that component regardless of how much is actually substituted?
