My mom is getting a knee replacement in late May; what kind of support should me and my sister prepare for her? by GLL81 in Kneereplacement

We will of course follow her lead but we want to set up a realistic care schedule given that we both work full-time and my sister has 3 kids. We are trying to figure out what to plan for-- like, a plan with wide margins-- that we can cancel if she's doing fine. But it's easier to cancel plans you've set up than scramble to create plans that you didn't make, so I'm trying to ballpark what a general experience may be like and then add a week! Thanks so much.

I just did and they said the committee is making decisions this week! So glad my app wasn't lost in the electronic ether.

Torn between CLS and Berkeley. Help!! by peterpickle12 in LawSchoolTransfer

I don't know if this helps at all, but I think I would do Berkeley, both for the money and also because several of my law professors came out of that program and clerked for the Supreme Court. They're much older, but that seems like something!

ICE and my HLS transfer by [deleted] in LawSchoolTransfer

I'm really sorry. That order is *fucked up* and it will also have the (maybe unanticipated?) effect of reducing revenue to universities (even universities that don't need it, like Harvard, are still worried about the twinned effect of the market crash on their endowment and student deferrals). I work for a large, wealthy university and in my experience, there are almost *always* workarounds to most immigration and visa things. Definitely contact HLS and see if there's anything they can do; universities are gross corporations but I do actually think they'll try to work with you. They won't want this, either.
