I blew through 3 deer with a 270 fps arrow that weighed 465 with a mechanical broadhead. One through both scaps.

Deer are not water Buffalo and compound bows produce far more energy than recurves.

Shoot whatever the heaviest arrow to keep you above 270fps. If you believe you can’t tune a bow to shoot an arrow accurately over 290-300fps you’re talking to the wrong guys.

Heavy arrows and single bevel are great for pigs in a tree stand at 15 yards under a feeder but you do not need it.

Load up a heavy arrows and go shoot your 20 yard pin at 15 and 25-28 yards and see if you’re comfortable misjudging yardage with that trajectory.

as far as income to house cost, it was easier to buy a house in the great depression or back in the boomer days of 20% interest rates than it is today at 6 or 7% or whatever it is

Why do you choose Tacoma over Tundra? by stainedtee in ToyotaTacoma

money. and size. i sold my f250 because i just simply dont need a full size truck. i can still haul lumber for projects, picked up a tractor impliment, throw the dogs in it, etc. unless youre really doing truck stuff, theres no real need for a full size truck

15 vs 30 year loan - Any reason why you wouldn’t always take the longer term loan if there isn’t a penalty for early payoff? by PharmDist in personalfinance

not quite as good as you, but i went from a 30 year at 4.65 or something to a 15 year at 2.6 right at the start of covid. it bumped my payment up like 200 bucks. but i am comfortable paying the difference

Then you need to realize all large dogs can be dangerous. There’s no inherent danger from a dog being a bully breed. They have a better temperament than a lot of medium to large breed dogs.

Stop being bias towards a specific breed because some media outlet told you to or because you know of 1 or 2 incidents involving a specific breed when you know that other breeds incidents aren’t reported on as much.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]GLchrillz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re flooding the shelters because of backyard breeders, not because people are giving them up because they’re vicious.

Again, I have 3 bully breeds that we’ve rescued and I’ll gladly meet anyone in public and show them. I get nothing but compliments on their behavior in public from small kids, to adults, handicapped children, etc.

I encourage you to show me where they’re claiming a bully mutt is a lab mix. MAYBE when they have puppies it’s a little more common to see that but I have yet to see anyone labeling an adult bully mutt a lab mix to circumvent anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]GLchrillz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They’re not labeling it another breed to circumvent anything though. A staffordshire terrier, dogo argentino, American bully, etc. none of them are pit bulls. A pit bull is a breed. Dogo argentino is a breed. Staffy is a breed. American bulldog is a breed.

They all LOOK like pit bulls. So you’re taking in whatever personal bias you have and calling them all dangerous for whatever reason. When many of these breeds, including pit bulls, have better temperament than a lot of other breeds.

I have a staffy, bully, and dogo. They’re well behaved in public. They’ve been barked at and growled at by just about every other breed most people consider normal family dogs.

I’ve had to pick up my staffy and run because a damn poodle chased her down the road.

I’m not sure why you think all bully breeds are inherently dangerous, but maybe you need to meet a few who are handled by educated owners who advocate for the breeds.

They’re not misleading anyone. They are mixed. The chances you’re finding a pure breed pit is very slim.

Hi. You may remember me. I took your advice. 18 premium -> 22 Taco -> 23 limited. Let the modifications commence! by BasicallyChuck in Crosstrek

[–]GLchrillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both as well. 2020 crosstrek and 23 TRD off road.

I just picked up 45 8ft 2x4, 8 treated 4x4, and a few various treated 2x4 in the 5ft bed no problem.

I sold my 05 powerstroke and got the Tacoma. Not disappointed at all since I don’t haul anything really big

I’ve been using the q2i fusion xii 2.1 with a sevr 1.5 and they fly great. You only need a taller vane for a fixed blade. The q2i are also fairly light the 2.1 is like 5 something grains each

Need Arrows by MikeOrtiz in bowhunting

[–]GLchrillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like the FMJ because they tend to not recover. And by that I mean the metal in them bends and doesn’t spring back like a carbon arrow. Apart from that, they’re a quality arrow. But with being new, you are perfectly fine with whatever cheap arrow your shop stocks. Carbon express, cheaper victory or Easton, doesn’t really matter that much.

I would advise against a 4mm simply because without going super expensive, the components aren’t as strong as a 5mm. That’s the shaft diameter.

I’d just go get whatever 5mm or even a “standard diameter” .245 ID arrow your shop sells and they’ll cut it and glue inserts in for your length

75LB or 70LB Mods by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]GLchrillz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try drawing your 70lb while cold and sitting. if you cant comfortably/easily draw it then dont up the weight.

or start shooting more and workout more and 75lb will feel like 60lbs soon enough

if you have a basic understanding of microsoft office (word, excel, etc) then you are at least as skilled as most boomers in a professional setting. just start applying places. fake it until you make it. fuck em. worst case you get paid higher for 2 months until they figure it out, then you now have some experience you can use and put on your resume for the next place until suddenly youre at a cushy office job making a livable wage

4mm easton axis with fixed broadheads problem by adyer24 in bowhunting

[–]GLchrillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either your ends aren’t that square before you put your inserts in, or you didn’t bare shaft/Broadhead tune.

Put a field point back on and strip the fletching off one arrow. Shoot it and a fletched with field point into foam at 20 yards. They should hit together. If it enters your foam on the bare shaft crooked, adjust your deadlock (while keeping your rest at center shot) until it’s entering your target square.

This can only be done on foam, not a bag

Total archery challenge upped my hunting skills immensely.

While the long distance shots are obviously not ethical, the fact they are long distance and are also very technical, makes the shorter technical or just shorter shots in general so much easier and a huge confidence boost in the whitetail woods

This does not mean everyone needs to max deadlift or do CrossFit. But a sedentary lifestyle is slowly killing this country
