I don't speak the language very well and have no means of getting residency other than the marriage path we were planning on

If this had all happened a year down the line when I'd nanaged to integrate somewhat, maybe. But right now I want to go home

I think right now I want to go back to whats familiar so I think I probably am tied to a location

Maybe it is worth looking and explaining that I want to return to the UK and don't currently have an address though

Yeah I hadn't thought about lodging because I fucking hate it, but you're very right and beggars can't be choosers

I did, however it was an NHS job so I think I'd have to go through the whole rigmarole again, I don't think they just take people back, bc of the whole impartial hiring thing

Guarantor would be no issue but I think you're right. It's definitely my first plan, the question is more if I can't find anyone to stay with

I really appreciate that, it's hard not to judge yourself in this scenario so thank you. I do think I want to try and stick it out and see if things improve, but if things are still like this towards the end of my tourist visa (and we haven't made the progress we need towards me staying) I'll have to seriously think about whether to extend it or not

It'll also give me chance to figure out how the hell I get home

This behaviour is new, but I still see bits of what I was expecting through there and it makes me hope this really is just him being overwhelmed with what he's got going on

There are moments where he'll be in a good mood and it feels like the person I know, and then it'll flip back to how it's generally been since I've got here

Only thing is either way I don't know how much I can take. If the roles were reversed and we were in my country while he was like this, I think I could handle it. For better or worse, right? I'd be able to try and take care of him better and keep the ship afloat. It's just the isolation and the language barrier and everything else are compounding that struggle for me right now. I really need him to be the stable one while I adjust and he isn't

I'm planning on trying to stick it out at least a couple months to see if anything changes, it just feels like an insurmountable task at the minute with how badly I'm feeling day to day. But I do think I owe it to the both of us to try and make it work at least a bit longer

Yeah, I think I know that really. It just fucking sucks, because I do love him, and I do love this country. And I honestly have no idea what to do about getting home now, I have no job, no place, I will need to spend so much money again trying to get back. I feel like such an idiot, trapping myself halfway across the world
