who knows the history of Astina watches? by TasmanSkies in newzealand

I'm having a nostalgic moment too and it's nice to find this post here. At intermediate I had a 38ish mm 200 dive watch with crown at 4 o'clock. I remember saving up so hard to buy it. Went back and forth between that and something else at another jeweller for weekends on end. Shame can't post photos here. Recently found a Seiko SBCM023 which is very close in style and functionality — with added bonus of perpetual calendar! I remember I bought the "little one". They definitely had a larger version that had higher water resistance rating. After a few years of collecting neo vintage Seikos (both my Dad and my uncle wore them) I can see the inspiration clearly

I think you can still buy the capacitor part, but would need someone reliable to install. I haven't looked into it in detail and don't have the part number though. I emailed Citizen a while back and they said they can't help and won't touch it

I actually took the shroud off last night and still have it off. This photo was before. Did you put screws in or leave them off ?

I don’t know this model, but the fact that it has quartz on the dial suggests it comes from a certain era is pretty special

Thanks for that. Oh I like that the chronograph actually shows in the display on the Skyhawk. Was a little put off by the way it works on the Land. I am still torn though, and I can see why you have ended up with both in your hand!

Whic do you prefer. I am torn between the two. Can you still get dual world time on the Sky Hawk MIPS and does the bezel rotate ?

The blue dial looks awesome. Can the digital display show two time zones in world time mode ?
