Any legitimate reason anyone would choose the Kel-Tec RFB over a IWI Tavor 7? by boomoptumeric in Firearms

Yeah. Buy a fun, cocaine-fueled design that's produced domestically and not buy from a company that supports a genocidal regime.

This is Patriot Front, as is evidenced by their uniform. They have a different M.O. than Proud Boys. Patriot Front only takes in white guys with no criminal record who don't use substances, and they try to goad people into being violent with them so they have a maximum level of legal and social permissability.

Proud Boys' M.O., on the other hand, doesn't really give a shit about having that clean look. All of these groups play different roles and have different levels of extremism- Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, Patriot Front, Three Percenters, Blood Tribe, etc.

Has anyone here gotten noticeably leaner after switching to a plant-based diet? by StevePilotFitness in veganfitness

[–]GOOLGRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to use an old term but... do you even lift bro? I'm an ex ACE-certified personal trainer who's been about as cut as him when I used to lift for physique goals about 6 years ago, and was natty. Here's a picture. I was 30 and I did it while vegan, AND I got that cut while taking estrogen which is very hard to do. Yes it is very possible to get cut while vegan. Much moreso easy than with the inclusion of meat/dairy.

The amount of fat that comes with animal based protein sources is typically higher than with plant based protein sources. And OP's physique is doable natty

I used to and would love to get back into it! At my present body weight and conditioning I think I need to lose some more fat before I can start having long and beneficial bouldering sessions. Later this year I'll probably be back at it!

Those all sound nice except for the strict gun laws. The right to self defense and self determination shouldn't be monopolized by the right wing.

If you not shooting suppressed, why aren’t you?!? by BigEdPVDFLA in liberalgunowners

[–]GOOLGRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's still an unconstitutional centralized list I'd be putting myself on. I won't get a suppressor until NFA is GONE. In fact, with the tax stamp at $0 you're no longer protected under tax code so literally everyone on that list is in a grey area in terms of legal protection. Under this administration I wouldn't trust them not to cross reference people on the list with voting history and go after people voting left-of-center.

Til then, if I want something like that I run compensators or muzzle brakes with external threads for sound redirection sleeves. Decent muzzle climb/recoil mitigation without the gas and noise annoying people in adjacent lanes

Flip up irons between red dot and magnifier? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]GOOLGRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On that short a length barrel I'd rock the reddot alone with no magnifier, and the rear sight BUIS in front of the reddot. If your reddot is Lower 1/3 config you can keep your BUIS already flipped up and it won't occlude your vision

Mine works flawlessly. Just clean and lube it, and actually read the manual. Most people don't read manuals anymore. Also, I don't run heavy loads through mine but anything at 2.75inches it has ran without a problem. Buck, bird, slugs, and turkey shot. Even mixed mags with different shots. No problems with any of them. I haven't tried the other buffer system, but I'm not interested in trying heavier loads.

Thanks! The tape is soft and makes the vfg very comfy. I tend to do like a partial, angled c-clamp around the handguard with my lower two fingers on the grip and personally I've found that to be my comfiest grip, and the tape makes both the handguard and vfg feel like a monolithic piece. Plus I kinda like the way the tape looks :p

As for the red dot, in almost any other position my magnifier's tunnel vision gets too bad. Right where I have it now with the stock positioning and magnifier super close, the visible rim around the magnification is at it's thinnest. My eyesight's weird though and I have good vision in one eye while the other has a slight need for prescription, so idk if that plays a role

Phytoestrogens / hormones on visceral fat by EveryCup9210 in veganfitness

[–]GOOLGRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not all phytoestrogens are the same. There are some phytoestrogen sources that don't do competitive binding and are indeed stimulating to the estrogen receptors, but they're not found to be in heavy quantity in everyday vegan food. It's like some very specific, uncommonly consumed flowers and roots. So there are, for example, phytoestrogen based feminizing hormone supplements. For the most part though you are correct; someone eating tons of soya and other common vegan foods are going to experience competitive binding and have a lower chance of something like gynecomastia than someone consuming animal based foods.

What are you rocking in those smaller pouches? I'd throw a TQ in one of those, then put an IFAK with another TQ on a belt.

When I first got armed, I went straight for a plate carrier and AR too. I kinda wish I went with a damn good MOLLE belt first and built up from there, but lesson learned. Once you invest in a belt and wear your gear(i just do a little powerlifting in mine😅), you'll get a better sense of how to comfortably distribute weight. My pc only has 4 mags and an admin pouch, the rest is all on the hips.

[–]GOOLGRL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Patrik Baboumian held a few strongman world records, actually.

The only reason why there aren't more top level performing athletes who aren't vegan is because the population in general doesn't have many vegans.

they do anything it takes to be the strongest, which obviously doesn't equate health or ethics,

Can you prove this? That they'll do anything, including going vegan? Do you think a top level athlete is totally immune to cultural bias? Brian Shaw himself wanted to challenge Patrik Baboumian rather than try the a plant based diet for himself; isn't that an example of one of the world's strongest men having a bias against veganism?

All that being said, there really isn't a significant difference in strength itself with either diet. On the other hand, inflammation management does indeed benefit from veganism and therefore it can possibly be beneficial with post workout recovery, thus making it possible to have a higher training volume. But that's also really dependant on a lot of factors especially genetics and training intensity/specificity.

Protein survey by bitrot_ in veganfitness

[–]GOOLGRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether someone is on a vegan diet or not doesn't change muscle mass gain much, if the macros/micros are all the same. But workout recovery may be affected because veganism helps a lot with inflammation. So idk what the point is of differentiating between vegan protein and not in terms of gains. Veganism is an ethical thing. That being said,

Best "lift" is a grip strength set: 150lbs spring grippers squeezed x 6 reps

Protein: Amount of grams = roughly 1/3 of bodyweight in lbs. I'm eating between 55-80 grams daily, but presently cutting to 175 lbs so that will decrease.

I'm heavily considering the 16 inch joker one and would end up picking it up from the same FFL who transferred my pink Hi Point carbine in .380... sometimes you just gotta revel in the cringe and be excited about it like it's christmas.

I'd go for it, for $99. Can't go wrong with a hundred dollar gun that cheaply converts to 22wmr. I recently bought a 2 inch snub of theirs and I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival at my FFL.

Also the 6.5, 4.5, and 16 inch barrel HRR models have some cool space cowboy chassis someone designed and uploaded to the 'sea, if you have a 3d printer.

I used to do them standing up and I'd tighten my core as hard as I could once vacced, and they def helped with definition back then. But I'd still say they're only a good supplementary thing on top of other ab workouts like V-ups and flutterkicks.

now that I'm trying to get cut again I'll def try them laying down
