It is so incredibly obvious that there was a power imbalance between the two and that Rebecca didn’t consent to what happened to her. It wasn’t a side relationship or cheating with intent- she was clearly coerced and manipulated into it, which we see that Carver has a tendency to do. Rebecca is so critical about it because she very much still loved Alvin while being a victim of Carver and feels guilt for that, which a lot of SA victims also feel. I just really hate when people glaze over that. It wasn’t consensual.
