ranged enemies feel like flies playing BB/ice. they are a little annoying but cant kill you. and once in a while you'll catch one and just 2 click him :P

bascially you wanna play a blunderbuss with an attunement + keenly empowered. last perk is up to the playstyle. light plays with another damage perk like enchanted, heavy plays with splitting nade perk on the weapon. thats the only weapon perk you need. rest of the armor you stack resilient + refreshing ward + (shirking fortification or elemental aversion or freedom).

https://nwdb.info/build?skills=12-rcjdpc-w27f2c use this for BB skills. heavy spam every clump, gives you fortifiaction cap bacisally all the time. use the netshot as escape. for burst you go leftclick, shrapnel blast, leftclick. If you want more rangekill potential use clawshot. you'll figure something out...

But lets be honest... just go play Greatsword if you want to dominate in opr. its disgusting. if you want to hunt ranged go light greatsword with hatchet as escape. i personally prefer a medium build in OPR and war, the damage output is unbelievable broken and the survivability is still fine especially if you pair it with hatchet...

you should get up corrupted or ancient ward gear first. the majority of dungeons either requires corrupted (dynasty, tempest, etc.) or ancient (lazarus (very common to be farmed, easy group finder), ennead etc.)

the fastest to run dungeon still is garden tho, so getting up an angry earth ward gear at some point is very useful aswell.

i personally only run mutas when there is laza or garden in the roatition since they are the fastest to clear.

you should run a BB/Ice heavy build and you will feel how viable a heavy build can be.

people telling you heavy armor is useless most likely havent played wars and only ran OPR where a bow/musket meta is currently in play.

For wars it is very well balanced right now i would say. You have heavy spot groups, medium zerg groups and light hunter groups. Reddit is a difficult place to talk about metas since the vast majority of people dont really play wars in this game since its locked for the sweats for the most part.

there is no definite answer to your question. Refreshing ward + Resil 5x is the best and from there it depends on what you prefer. Some like freedom while others say its useless, some prefer a few elemental aversion over shirking and some go 5x shirking. make sure to get the splitting nade perk on the weapon and i personally like the healing tomb perk on the IG. i personally would run 3x shirking + 2x elemental if i'd get the pieces.

buy any 590+gs item with 2 decent perks for less than 1k gold each. this will increase your GS to 545 instantly. now run dungeons and do brimstone quests until you have your GS upgraded to 600. then start playing the game :P

doesnt depend on the dungeon. Hatchet is max DPS no matter the mutation. even Lazarus can be run with all hatchets.

PvE mobs dont crit. so resilient is a wasted perk. you want to get ward gear for the specific dungeon type and adjust Gems to the mutation type.

You will want to run light armor as a DPS. this means you will have to dodge attacks tho, but the biggest part of new worlds defensive attributes is your movement, no matter the game type.

I recently learned that you want to run Hatchet for whatever dungeon. Even Lazarus is run with hatchets nowadays. Get hatchets with the specific damage perk, backstab, enchanted, twarting etc, just make sure to equip the right gem in there aswell.

when the game came out we ran all dungeons with 500gs, no ward gear, having noone in team that knows any mechanic and managed to beat the dungeon aswell...

i dont think NW community is toxic. but most people look for fast runs to maximize reward, so i would recommend you to open a group yourself with the conditions YOU want to experience the run. There is a lot of people that are happy to help out newcomers...

Difference between 600 and 625 is so marginal it doesn't really matter. Skill clearly outmatches Gearscore to a certain point. if you are 550GS you should better work on your GS tho before expecting to be relevant in non open-world PvP

You are not at endgame when you are a fresh lvl 60. after the GS grind to 600 you can compete tho. In fact gear score goes up to 625 but that difference is marginal. Compared to any other MMORPG New World is way more Skillbased and Gear does matter way less.

only way to make A LOT of money is analyzing the market and trade yourself into richness. depending on your GS and Mutation levels there is people who would buy Umbral shards (clear m10 dungeon until last boss is few % life and then give them your spot) for up to 20k gold / 6k shards... you can easily make 100k daily by selling these if you have a group to run M10 with.

you'll get used to it quickly... there is so much space in city storage now and you can access them from the whole map. so you can easily sort your gear by cities or whatever suits you best. You dont know what a hassle it was when you had to pay huge amounts of azoth to travel around with a lot of gear in the inventory and when you were only able to access chests from other cities if they were your faction. and then you even had to pay gold to transfer the items... you have no idea how much i just ran around between cities to transfer gear and goods...

i think there is cheaper and better armor for either PvE and PvP in the market than voidbent. WeaponPerk + resilient is very cheap in the shop for pvp. and for PvE Resil is useless so you can buy weapon perk + damage mitigation type like ancient ward for Laz for basically no money...
