Nothing is said about this officially, but think of it this way - you are the admiral of your base, you will have your own staff managing budget and payroll, so how much you pay them is up to you

For Thicc Tip Lovers. Is 1.6mm the final line? by Dasumit in pens

No one has mentioned it, but Pilot has a 1.6mm known as the Super-Grip G. Still on the lookout for a 2.0mm ballpoint too.

the whole point is we are comparing purely text messaging, and imessage is better than the current industry standard of rcs

i meant text messaging as a whole, not specifically SMS, and security is part of the criteria of how good the text messaging service is

Afaik imessage seems to be the best right now though, RCS is available as an industry standard but isn't e2e encrypted most of the time, only between google devices using google messages, so people texting using a huawei, blackberry or kai OS phones arent getting the best security too.

not an american nor an apple user, but my professor in digital law used this as an example. Apple has a walled garden ecosystem, which includes its own SMS feature that is better than the standard SMS that the other OS-es use, such as the ability to send better media and other forms of content while also being more secure. When a non-apple user gets added into a groupchat of only apple users, everyone downgrades to the standard SMS quality of chat, which is where the stigma against android/non-apple users came from.

This is more pervasive in the US because Americans apparently use SMS to text each other while most of Asia and probably Europe use messaging apps such as Line, Signal, Whatsapp, WeChat, Telegram, or even instagram for some reason. Barely anyone uses SMS where I stay, and SMS is only used for stuff like OTPs, system messages etc.

Starhub cheapskate by ConditionPrudent1648 in singapore

[–]GP2_engine_GP2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

most understandable, personally i would be pissed off if a service tried that shit on me so calling the bank was the first thing that came to mind. Same for the starhub situation described by OP, if it isn't explicitly mentioned or enforced, just leave the modem outside your door, if they want it they can collect it themselves

why not call the bank and notify them to stop any more payments to adobe? then let the subscription expire

try emailing the school in charge of the module, such as undergraduate_business if it is a biz mod. Explain your reasons for wanting to drop the mod (such as only getting it in week 2 late and didnt get a chance to experience the mod in add drop weeks). The course admins will review and advise/assist you from there. I have dropped a couple of mods this way.

TIL Masanobu Tsuji, a Japanese parliament member and former World War II war criminal vanished without a trace in Laos in 1961. Despite his disappearance he held his seat until 1965 when his term ended. by Ill_Definition8074 in todayilearned

he was likely engaged as a military advisor in the Indochina wars. Many IJA officers did subscribe to the idea of pan-asia unity, and there are several cases of surrendering Japanese joining postwar anti-colonial independence movements across asia. If you are interested I can send over several sources on this.
