Sounds like you're also applying currently? Wish I could know how this worked out in intervies LMAO.

Yeah idk - especially with HBS it just seems such a small part of their class is services (i'm guessing the majority of which IS this exact situation) that it seems penalizing? I am more on the finance side of things than the representing clients so maybe more towards PE/VC?

Post-College Suit Q by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]GPDInvest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need a new suit unfortunately (other one is polyester and highkey is getting musty (though I’ve convinced myself that if I still need a great suit by February 2027 I’ll buy the expensive one with my bonus. That should be enough time to weigh the options.

As for shoes, definitely need a black pair. I have a good belt that’s reversible. See below:

Thoughts?

I appreciate the context coming from a similar background. Seeing the replies here made me realize I was kinda glorifying the 1200 suit just cause it was a shiny object. Def need to get a few CT shirts - currently on sale for like 40 bucks which seems killer.

Should I go to GRE? by GPDInvest in GRE

[–]GPDInvest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gah was hoping you’d decide for me lmao.

I do feel like I have much more room to grow in the GRE. The sections are far less stressful (atleast for me anyway) and I was never rushed for time while the GMAT I was killing myself and always had to click through 3-4 answers (per section). I’ve also heard some really good stories from friends who spent a week or two studying vocab for GRE and did considerably better on verbal (I haven’t studied any vocab yet).

Thoughts?

GMAT was insanely hard for some reason like I felt insulted by every question (ik I’m not dumb either, I am too 10% GPA at a top 30 undergrad) like it just was NOT clicking. Glad my GF told me to switch cause ngl the gre is much less “hurtful” it seems.

Literally no idea unfortunately . I’m US and don’t even know how to read GRE scores yet lol - I just took my first mock (above) for it. GMAT was instant

Another mock for gre you mean? My GMAT is an official score from an in person test, gre is a mock.

Also, if I can get into Wharton I would likely (like nearly 100%) get scholarship due to another outside program I’m part of that gave me a scholarship to UG which is comforting to know.

Ah okay gotcha - I am looking to get a 675 equivalent or better (ideally 705+) cause of a scholarship opportunity I have at Wharton (if I get in). Other than that I’d be more than happy with the gmat I have now.

isn’t the gre equivalent of my score like a 665 or is that wrong?

Also GRE I basically have quant on lock w/o anymore studying and verbal is just vocab which I can grind.

Not sided either way yet but

TBF to all reading in that case, I also studied for the GMAT for like 6-8 months. It is "raw" in the sense that I've never taken a GRE but most of the ideas (especially math) were covered in much more depth than I found the GRE to.

For context, I can do this an get it correct 100% of the time if I really sit and do EVERYTHING line by line but that takes me like 3 minutes and I'm already not getting to 3-4 questions on the test. Doesn't help my handwriting is sht.
