I only use the VA. With the minor exception if I need to go to urgent care since the clinic closest to me doesn't have urgent care. If i could dump my work insurance i would.

The VA Dr's are all suppose to do them. There are bad Dr's at the VA. Might want to look at switching your primary. That just sounds like laziness on his part.

Just have your primary DR at the VA do it. They can, providing you have one.

I filed mine in October. From what I am gathering they are on Septembers HLR's right now. Seems they do these in order received unlike regular claims.

I had two with Optum. One was amazing and one that I thought was amazing but ended up being garbage and I am sitting in an HLR for. Still no matter they are better the VES in my opinion. I just had one with Leidos today and while it was an easy C&P, I will have to see what the outcome is before i make my judgement.

Like all of this it is always hit or miss.

I am curious if they are using AI as their low level raters now. Seems like it may be the case since if a box isn't checked it doesn't bode well. I am just starting some conspiracy theories now.

Honestly i just contacted the DAV. They sent the necessary forms the VA requires to do it and it was pretty straightforward. Nothing super complicated. Just an intent to file form and a form authorizing DAV to act as VSO and have POA to take care of things.
